As I Get Older, It Makes More Sense To Me

I never understood what Shakespeare meant by: you said you love rain but you open an umbrella.

Truly, the earth needs rain to survive. All things, plants and animals are blessed with rain. Thanks to nature that made the seasons and blessed mother earth with rain.

As humans, we live humans by loving the rain but when what we say we love falls to embrace us, we look for shelter. Why do we run into shelter when the rain drops from heaven and still claim to love it. Oh humans, why are we like that.

Let's bring it down to reality.

Every part of the earth needs rain just like Africa. There is the rainy season and the dry season. The beginning of the rainy season is a time for farming. Farmers grow their crops normally in this season but sometimes after farming, the rain refuses to fall for a couple of days. At that time, farmers pray for rain and make heaven realize how much they love the rain. Just after some days, it rains again and everyone will be happy. Farmers express pleasure to mother earth and are happy because their farm is growing.

Water is life, we can't live without it. Some say they enjoy sleeping while it rains but why do people walk with an umbrella to prevent the rain. Shakespeare was right with his words.

In difficult times, when I am beaten down and come asking for help, would you stay away from me. Would you be of help to me and would you hide from me. Do you only love me when I fall at night for you to have a happy and sound sleep? Do you only adore me when I am used to your plants, when I water your life only? There are unanswered questions from the rain we love. But what will the people say when I walk in the rain like I don't care?

You say you love the sun but you find a shady spot.

There is possibly no earth without the sun. There's possibly no day and night if there was no sun. To many, there is no drying and energy without the sun but yet, we can't stay in the sun all day because it hurts the skin. Yeah, but we live it. The Sun is there for us all day waiting for us to spread out clothes to get them dried. It lights our day and provides the earth with surplus energy.

We have people that have lighted up our lives and made us what we are today. We have people who out of love and kind-heart threw their light to our life and here we are living a changed life, a life of our dreams. What about when things turn around. When they are out of energy, do we show them love or just like the rain, seek shelter.

You say you love the wind but you close your door when the wind blows .

I remember a night of heavy rainfall that caused many disasters. As it rained that night, a disastrous strong wind followed. It caused many tree branches to fall on people's houses. The Strong wind also removed so many roof tops and rendered many homeless that night. Nobody would want that kind of disastrous wind, but still we need the wind. We breathe life because of the presence of air and thanks to nature.

What about our actions to other people's lives. Are there people that are scared in your presence? Of course they want you but does your presence scare them? In our homes, offices and places of work, are we like a disastrous wind or like the gentle breeze that touches every soul and gives life?

Everything just makes sense to me as I grow up.

That's why I'm afraid when you say you love me

Thanks for your time.
