Dog Ways of Communication

Who among you guys have dogs in their house? 😁 🐕 🐕‍🦺

Do you know what are their ways on how to communicate with you or show what they want to say to you?

Dogs are called "The Man's Best friend" because most of can get a comfort, a friend, a family and etc. to a dog. Sometimes they are trying to communicate with us even we dont understand what are they want to express to us. But dogs uses their face and body language to communicate. Dogs can communicate to human in genius way, by making their own way to express it to us.

Knowing what our dogs wanted to say to us is difficult but when you observe and know your dog better you will understand what are they trying to say. Sometimes dogs can give comforts that human cannot give to us. Dogs can save lives and become heroes even without knowing by others.

Here are some ways how Dogs communicate to humans.

Eye contact

Dogs communicate mostly by staring at humans eyes and making an eye contact. This means that they are showing their trust and affection towards you. Sometimes this is they way to say "I love you". Avoiding eye contact is maybe a sign that your dog is scared or uncomfortable.

Tail posture

Tail wagging is the most common recognizable way of how dogs communicate to you. It shows that your dog is happy. Slow wagging means your dog is feeling cautious. Low tail means you dog is scared.

Tongue flicking

Sneezing and yawning

Simple sneezing or yawning can also their way to communicate to you. Sometimes sneeze or yawn means that your dog is uncomfortable and stressed, often around new pets or people. This can get confusing because dogs also yawn when they are feeling content around you.

Belly exposure

When dogs rolls over and bares his belly on your hand, it means your dog is initiating some gestures.

Play bowing

If your dog faces and dives you into a bow with his front legs on the ground and his butt in the air, this is the dogs way to communicate as to play bow and it’s your dog’s way of telling you that it is playtime. If you want to make your dog’s day and play with your dog, try play bowing back at him!

Raising a paw

dog usually gets our attention and communicate to you by raising their paws and/or touching you. You probably seeing this when you're sitting and your dog approaches you.

Freezing

Freezing of the dog while in action means your dog are feeling uncertain and want to be alone. It is best to honor his wishes and give them some space.

Bringing things to you

Its hard to teach our dog fetch but sometimes your dog get what you throw and return it to you. This shows that you dog wants to play with you. When your dog get something without even telling him it means he wants to have play with you (as an invitation to play). But if the dog brings something especially his favorite toy it means or most likely that he is giving a gift you. And this is their way to show that your dog showing attention, affection for you sharing his favorite things with you.

Leaning against you

Last but not least, your dog are leaning with you without reason, this way of your dog means that he wants to cuddle with you and have some peaceful time with you.

All these methods of your dog to communicate are common to all breeds of dog. It is important to know your dog better because every dog is different.
