I missed writing an article yesterday and it would be the fourth time in this month but the time spent in reality wasn't wasted because I was getting other things done outside the platform so I apologize for not engaging as usual and I am trying to keep up the best way I can.
Let me take a few moments to appreciate my sponsors, I just want to say a big thank you for the everyday support. God bless you abundantly.
I was listening to music earlier and a line got my attention, it was a rap song and the rapper said, "We should treat each other right because tomorrow is pregnant and we don't know what it would give birth to.
The words kept playing in my head, isn't it true that we will know how to live if we knew what was going to happen to us in the next hour? Life is unpredictable and many of us wouldn't be doing some of the things we are doing if we could take a glance at what the future would look like.
I remembered the story of a woman who maltreated her stepdaughter and treated her own very well, she deprived the young girl of a lot of benefits and privileges opened to the children in the family and even diverted some goodies that were specifically for the girl to her children.
Due to how she handled her kids, they got spoilt and lived horrible life. Immediately their father passed away, they wasted everything he left behind to the extent that the woman had to start doing petty labor to feed herself. He kids became a problem to her and in the end, the stepdaughter was the one who came to save her from the misery her children made her experience.
The girl got a scholarship that made her study somewhere in Africa, she got a good job and husband there. Her husband is rich and she had a five-figure paying job in dollars which made taking care of her stepmother very easy for her, the stepmother wouldn't have treated her badly if she knew that the girl would be the one to take care of her when she is grown.
Lots of us including myself would judge the stepmother to be evil whereas the same mistake the woman made is what many people are doing in the world today but it is necessarily not about taking care of kids that don't belong to us.
A huge number of humans are fond of writing people off in life, we condemn people because of their financial conditions, their looks, and other unreasonable factors just because we are doing better than them at the moment.
It is wrong, we have seen rich men fall from the peak and the poor climbing to points we don't expect in life. This thing happens every day but we only judge others instead of picking up the valuable lessons and applying them to our lives.
I witnessed a quarrel yesterday while sitting under my favorite tree in the neighborhood, a thrift collector was going around doing her daily work when a guy who works around said he just doesn't know why he hates the woman who walks about 4-5hrs a day trying to make ends meet.
The word made me felt bad but we weren't friends so I didn't try to correct him, I always try as much as possible to avoid trouble. The woman heard what he said because she was beside him attending to a customer, she felt sad and asked why he would say such a harsh word but he denied it and turned it into a quarrel. The woman was sad, I could see it in her face and when she left, the shop owners around were saying dirty things and I had to step away because I was finding their conversation uncomfortable. (I once mentioned in an article that I stopped going to relax under the tree because a lot of people now find the place very comfortable to gossip, smoke, and do other dirty things).
If the lady becomes successful over the night, I am sure many of them would wish they never said bad about her so that she can help them somehow.
It is a big world and the unexpected happens a lot in life, if Joseph's life could be transformed from a prisoner to a minister then nothing is unpredictable in life. Jumoke the bread seller became an international model, she was mistakenly captured in a shoot and that was how she became a star.
It is happening among students, they look down on each other because they are intelligent, colleagues, and even couples are not exempted. This habit could turn bad for us, what If the person you have looked down on today happens to your someone who will lift you out of a problem tomorrow.
We often see the journey of life as a very smooth one whereas there are lots of curves and bends, a lot of things happen during these turns which can make the person at back move forward and vice versa. Thanks to technology, it is easy to know the gender of a baby in the mother's womb through scan but no technology can tell you what your life or the life of others would look like tomorrow and for this reason, we should always treat people with love.
It doesn't end with us, educate kids about the act but that shouldn't be an issue as long as they don't see us looking down on people, it would be hard for them to do the same.
