Less than 36hrs to go, memories are flowing. Being an introvert, every celebration remains the same but that doesn't mean I don't feel excited, it is not just my things having people gathered in large numbers - it is always stressful to me, I even feel exhausted going to people's events. This one habit has made me lose people who claim to be my friend but that doesn't bother me, the few who understands me knows how to make me attend their party. I have lost count of events I have planned to go to and didn't attend, I used to need special inspiration to attend. This weekend, I have got two weddings, one title coronation, and Arabic school graduation, I laugh inside when they remind me about them. I got the cloth and cap for two but I haven't even sewed it and even if I did, the chances of attending any are slim because weddings are happening in a very far distance while the others would be crowded since it is a community thing.

Aside from that reason, my birthday is on Friday and I love relaxing a lot especially when it falls on weekends. 25th of March is always a fantastic day for me but I started losing the touch on that day even as a teenager, adulthood can be tempting. I am certain that a lot of people got there and was like, I wish I could slow down the speed at which I reached this stage. Growing up wasn't fun, I admired kids celebrating birthdays. I usually don't attend, the noise and those child's play weren't my things, I would rather be on a football field than waiting for biscuits and drinks to be shared. I was young though but had the stature of an older person so gathering like that doesn't freak me.

My first and only birthday party... I was opportune to have a party once in my life and that was my 9th birthday. It came with a deal, my mom promised me one if I passed my common entrance exam into junior secondary school. I was 8 when I wrote the exam so she fulfilled her promise on my 9th birthday, she almost regret celebrating it because I wasn't flowing with the party. The noise, kids, I was feeling shy and uncomfortable, the party almost ended earlier than expected but the youths where I do play football came around to save the day. The kids left and they stay around for long dancing and playing games, I enjoyed that more. They made the birthday a memorable one and I doubt if I would still remember anything if those adults never intervened. That night, I doubted if I was going to mark my birthday with lots of people gathered and it has always been about my family but that doesn't stop me from sending drinks to people in the neighborhood that are aware of it. I started having a new perspective about birthdays when I started having a relationship, I always felt the need to hang out since there is an inspiration to do it. You know how ladies feel about birthdays, cakes, gifts, going out to have fun, and others. Relationships made me memorize birthday dates, I am naturally poor with keeping track of dates. Only men who have seen the repercussions of not remembering their lover's birthday would understand this better, it is always a terrible thing when your lover has to remind you of her birthday every year. I got a big cake at 17, it wasn't a serious relationship but she choose to make that day great.

I got a load of gifts, she was older but she never knew because I had the stature. I knew the relationship wasn't heading anywhere so I didn't bother opening up to her.

Finally someone I saw a future with came into my life and every birthday has been spectacular, she knows how to make that day special.

Surprises, gifts, she makes every day feels like one. I think it feels like that when you have a woman who makes you feel like a king even when you don't have anything, she knows how to spoil me on my birthday and she wouldn't hesitate to do the same every year even though I didn't return the same energy on her day. *I have been dreaming of a car key lately, probably that's the surprise she has for me this year and I will just pretend like I don't know.* I have friends who don't joke with this day as well, they wouldn't hesitate to hang out if life permits, and I appreciate that a lot.

One asked what I wanted for a gift and I mentioned Bitcoin Cash, she has been asking questions since then. I feel like it would be great getting BCH as a gift on my birthday, it would make me feel younger.

Not feeling too excited because every birthday is a step away from the beginning and one closer to the end, we spend those days matters. Let's ensure we live life the best way we can, I am off to continue the discussion with my siblings. We were sharing birthday memories before I excused myself to write this article, who wants to join the conversation.
