April 30. The Czechs celebrates the "burning of the witch" day. it is used to believe that the power of witches would weaken as the weather got warmer. So they thought that if they made something that looked like a witch and burned it, so they could finally get rid of the cold weather. But according to myths/stories from great grandparents, here in vysocina, they really burned witches some 100+ years ago. like in any other parts of europe and america, where they burn people who they believed practicing witch craft and patronizing demons. But unlike in other areas, they used life size witch dolls, in our area only used regular witch dolls. heheh And before going home, after the witches where "punished", i bought this candy. its called turkish med. (med means honey here) for 2.50$.

My brother in law decided to order these compressed saw dust for our boiler while the prices is still tolerable. we try to avoid using gas boiler as much as possible now due to high price of gas and electricity. Approximately its around 1000kg, its for the whole year round of use. during summer days we don't use heater to save woods. also later on, we will again order chopped woods for alternate use. The sacks is much higher than me hahaha

My kind of dinner tonight. Because i'm so tired from work so i decided to cook something easy to prepare. I had 2 cups of steam rice. 2 scrambled eggs, instant noodles in spicy flavor and mango juice.

@Gemini41A

Done with my booster shot today! I hope no more covid episode anymore. as a treat, I bought this nice sweet, called, indianek, a czech sweet. A dessert known as an Indianer, which rose to fame in Vienna in the early nineteenth century, when it was served by an Indian magician. indiánek means 'little Indian'. in translation. it is a whipped egg white mousse covered in chocolate on top of a cookie.

@Gemini41A

throwback time! "Pearl of the king", visited this giant pearl in 2015, in Boracay island, Philippines. The pearl is owned by a Chinese-Filipino businessman, Richard King, chairman of the Crown Regency Hotel in Boracay Island, Aklan, Mr. King inherited the so called biggest pearl from his grandfather as it reportedly came from Palawan sea like the “Pearl of Allah” or popularly known as “Pearl of Lao Tzu/Tze” and is considered as largest known pearl in the world which measures 24 centimeters and weighs 6.4 kilograms. Unfortunately we never had a nice picture of the pearl because of the photobomber fish who sleeps on it during the course of our visit. 2nd photo (right), courtesy of google.

yesterday my mother in law's cousin and wife visited us again. they gave us around 30 kgs of potatoes, eggs from their chicken coop, 2 kgs of beef and this lovely flower, one for me and for my mother in law as gift for celebrating the women's month. when they visit, they normally give some gifts which is very highly appreciated due to increasing prices of commodities now. last time they visited they gave walnuts and ginger bread.

Throw back Thursday! Visited in 2018 The Paoay church of Ilocos norte. Church was still under renovation/repairs at that time. The Saint Augustine Church commonly known as the Paoay Church, is a Roman Catholic church in the Municipality of Paoay, Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. The church was completed in 1710, the church is famous for its distinct architecture highlighted by the enormous buttresses on the sides and back of the building. It is declared as a National Cultural Treasure by the Philippine government in 1973 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the collective group of Baroque Churches of the Philippines in 1993.

Throw back time! The infamous Basco, Batanes light house. we visited this back in 2018. Batanes is located in the northernmost province in the Philippines. its around 2.5hrs by plane from Manila. Inside is possible to see and climb the top part for less than 1$ entrance ticket (at that time). I love the place because no traffic there, I can assure you of that hehehe. food and people are so nice. but some senior residents dont speak tagalog nor english. The now a days " I❤ Batanes" signage is not yet there during our visit. I love to this place someday again, hopefully. food and hotels are affordable but not the flight tickets hehehe.

@Gemini41A

finally after 5 months, my package arrives yesterday. im so worried that if not arrive soon, some items will reach expiration dates. but now i am so glad that they received it and enjoying the little gifts i had for them. some of the items is already distributed to designated persons hehehee. other items not included in the photo, like baby clothes for my nephews, tons of chocolates, diapers and bath essentials. hehehe :) ;)

@Gemini41A

Munching on my favorite snack since i was a kid while watching some series. But because i bought it in a filipino store it cost me 1.30$ for one pack. 3x the normal price in the philippine market.

@Gemini41A

throw back time! hehhe this photo in pink horse is taken back in 2017 when we visited Baguio city, Philippines. we stayed there for 3 days so we don't have enough time to explore the area so much. hopefully soon we can visit it again. love to see the strawberry farm there. Most unforgettable experience we had there is during our stay in our hotel, forgot the name, late evening we heard some footsteps going up and down and up and down. my partner cant take it anymore, check it out but unfortunately no one is awake, no one is walking in the hall or in the stairs. the guard/ front man evening snoring in the reception hall. next morning we ask somebody about the hotel, and during the world war 2, many died there and throw their bodies there (it just an open space during the time). 3rd and last day we saw a local celebrity. forgot the name. hehehe. too bad i didn't ask for photograph. because we are in a hurry at that time to leave.

@Gemini41A

I hope our govt will support our players both financial. Moral and all the support they needed. so the country can send more athletes for more chance of winning medals. Go Go Go kabayan!
