visited this place in 2017, the Palawan underground river park. The park is located in the Saint Paul Mountain Range on the western coast of the island of Palawan, about 80 kilometers (50 mi) north of the city of Puerto Princesa, and contains the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River (also known as the Puerto Princesa Underground River). It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, and voted as a New7Wonders of Nature in 2012.

looking back on some of my old photos in facebook. I came up with this photo which we visited in 2018 in Prague. Its a snack bar in Prague near The Old-New Synagogue in Prague. Many tourist thought that this sweet snack is an old tradition sweet of czech. but unfortunately its not czech origin but of romanian tradition (according to research). according to many czechs, sellers just spread rumors that trdelnik is a czech trational pastry to milk money from tourist. Trdelnik is made from rolled dough that is wrapped around a stick, then grilled and topped with sugar and walnut mix. but can also request some add on like cream, with fruits and chocolate/nutella toppings.

Got scam by my favorite hair dresser hahhaha. Supposedly l will pay only 4$ for my haircut and my husband. But suddenly she suggested this shampoo and hair serum, so i ended up paying 24$ instead. Lucky she didnt include the hair conditioner, coz if ever i'll ended up with 30$. Hope its worth paying for it. Hehhehe

time to time i bought some small gifts for my nephews. whenever i see something cutie at a good price i buy it right away. I dont have own kids yet, thats why i find joy when i buy something for them for their daily use. no need to be very expensive as long as they are happy and comfortable with it.

just bought vitamin c for added protection. i have multivitamins but just for added booster. now a days a simple cough and colds, can ended up in "covid" and need to isolate for 10 days depends on the situation. so its better to spend a little more than be sorry for this covid scare.

experienced a short but heavy winter storm this morning before lunch time. from this we have around 30mins of power shortage. but worst one of the express way in prague , D5, a route thats links prague to germany, where in 40 cars and trucks collided due to the snow storm.

finally we able to buy eggs in supermarket today. so for tonight, i cooked floured eggs (kwek-kwek in filipino). we boiled eggs first then coat in flour batter with little of orange food coloring, ground pepper, and salt, and then dip fry in oil. either you can use chicken eggs, quail eggs (which i like most because it more tastier but more expensive), and fertilized duck eggs, but never tried it yet. you can use chili sauce but normally i use spicy vinegar for dips. it is a common street food too in the Philippines.

our dinner for today. ham and cheese sandwiches. originally i plan ham and egg sandwich. but for some reason there is a shortage of eggs here in our area. we search every store but we cant find a single egg in the groceries today. so we have no choice but to wake up so early tomorrow and fall in line in one of the store before its opening time of 6am. due to bird flu, they have to eliminate so many chickens and ducks few months ago. so there are shortage of eggs now. and in few days time, aside from eggs, chicken meat and duck meat will also increase prices. (but salary remains the same, even when everything increases prices already).

few more walnuts to crack up. they are given by a relative. few more pieces now are left from 2 boxes they gave last December. I'm always having hard time cracking up a walnut. sometimes there is a shell that is so though to open. so most of the time i hit my fingers too from our old style version of nut crackers. we put ground walnuts too to some of our Christmas sweets i posted weeks ago.

after christmas and new year, its time to tighten the belt for now. few more days before the pay day, petsa de peligro ika nga (day of danger) hahaha. i ordered these instant noodles and some few more from pinoy store (Filipino store) where in its 3 times higher than its normal price in Philippine local market. even in our home town. we always eat this together with egg or hotdog with plain rice or garlic rice. its delicious and cheaper. but only time to time. because its instant, not good for health if always consumed.

this morning we are visited by the "3 kings", yearly this group of children knocking on door to door to ask for a donation for the church purposes. they use the fund collected to support some organizations who finance orphanage, home for the aged, organization who feeds homeless. distressed families, and more. they are composed of different groups of 3 children dress as the 3 kings who visited baby Jesus, accompanied by 1 adult (not in photo), each group have an assigned area/streets to visit and knock on door for donations. yearly we gave cash donations and chocolates for the children. and in return, they gave small packets of sugar. i dont know whats the purpose for it, but we use it for coffee or tea.

my snack and dinner today. im so tired from work this whole week so i have no mood for cooking nice dinner. i will cook nice dinner for me and husband tomorrow. hehe most of the time we eat left overs and some light meals for dinner. food that are easy to cook and prepare. so we can rest early and prepare again for next day work.

taken this photo few days before the new year in our town plaza. I'm still on christmas mode, although work modes has started today. hehehe aside from the giant Christmas tree i posted a month ago, this Bethlehem is also one of the main attraction here. made from hays/straw/ dry grass. years before pandemic, they even had live animals there for attraction like sheep, camel and goat. sheep and goat is common here but im still curious where did they borrow the camel hahaha. I dont know if the bethlehem are still there or they already remove it since christmas seasons are over now. i will look forward for it again on the next season. although its simple and plain but still lovely for me, because its made from eco friendly materials.

On first photo, its called Chlebíček, it is of czech and slovak dish. these open face sandwiches are often served during special occasion such as birthdays, wedding parties and during new year's eve celebration. bought this for my advance Christmas gifts (for next year) for my nephews, hehehe. since Christmas is over, most stores are now offering left overs at a discounted prices now. so i decided to buy these and start collecting gifts for the kiddoes for next year. hehehe. yearly i do this so to save more money and at the same time no need to rush buying gifts for the upcoming christmas day (for next year). hehehehe. advance lang mag isip si antie hahahaha (auntie is just thinking in advance).

taken this photo couple of weeks ago when the snow fall was still so thick and strong. i copied my neighbors, tired it and check what will happen to it. for few minutes the softdrinks was so cold. maybe in less than one hour if left in snow probably will get frozen solid hahaha. maybe on next strong snowing, ill try to leave it there and check what will happen to it hahahah.

our meal for Christmas eve, on first photo was the Czech traditional Christmas eve dinner of breaded carp and potato salad or just plain boiled potatoes. i don't have time the chance to decorate it nicely, because family member is already in the dinning area and also hungry hehe. on second photo was the sweet platter, which we baked days before Christmas eve, with addition of bread sticks, potato chips and few chocolates. what about you what is your traditional Christmas eve dinner, if there is any? would you like to follow the tradition or want some twist on it? #czechtradition #christmassweets

photo from yesterday. so busy i don't have time to share it with you yesterday. after a long time finally our Christmas tree is up and decorated by yours truly. hehehe. here in Czech, most people still follow old traditions of putting up and decorating the tree on December 24, including gift wrappings and all. which i dont like much because of time pressure. if given the chance i prefer to do it long time ago, to avoid rushing. any how's, I hope you like my decorating, most of the tree ornaments is from grandmother of my husband, so most of them are more than 70 years old now. so i need to be careful not to break them because they are made of very thin glass. last minute Christmas décor huddle hehehe. luckily there still 1 piece left each from 2 different stores for these Christmas stockings. i plan to buy atlest 5 pieces but i was so slow so i was left with only one piece and the simplest one. maybe next year, i will try to look for it at the start of November so there are a lot of stock with nicer designs. added collection also for the previous Christmas balls and decors i bought for this season. have a wonderful holiday to all my friends here! may God grant us our greatest wish of covid free 2022 and good health for all of us here!

our 2nd batch of christmas sweets. although i'm the one who prepare the dough and the baking, its my mother in law who filled the fillings. because i need to do something important. i dont know if we can bake as many as like last year of 11 kinds of sweets, because we are a bit short of time now. so maybe if ever we will just buy some sweets from pastry shops for addition. as for christmas dinner, we already bought the carp, and later on we will do potato salad. which i will post later on. maybe we will try again bake more goodies for next year. #czechtradition #christmassweets

after a day of tiring house cleaning, its time for a nice snacks. chocolate filled donuts, butter cookies and bread sticks, and my 2nd bottle of soft drink for the day. hehehe now its time to think of what to cook for dinner. last night I had rice, egg and instant noodles because so tired to cook for something nice. also last night I bought 2 pieces of some chocolate cake. but forgot about it. so we will indulge it later while watching some show.

ahoj! hello! hi to all! this is my employer's pet, named Filip, been working with them for 6 months now. but the cat still hates me, don't want me to pet him, unlike other cats that even on first meeting they love being petted by some body else. Filip only eats cat food and cat treats, so rest assure that he wont steal your food, cook or uncooked, not even the smell of fresh meat like fish, seafood, chicken, pork or beef can tease him to lick them, but sometimes he eats little of human cookies, so obviously he has a sweet tooth too. hahaha

just baked few of czech traditional christmas sweets. around first week of december to 3rd week, before christmas eve, we bake different kind of sweets. normally we bake 10-12 kinds of sweet goodies aside from sweets given by friends and relatives. and few days before christmas eve we bake cake rolls and other kind of cakes made from left over egg whites. because normally only the egg yolks are used in making the sweets. we also buy additional sweets like meringue candy and a cookie that's made from coconut flakes. because its more cheaper to buy them that to bake them.
