Tutok Ka Ba? The Jessica Soho Presidential Interview
Jessica Soho Presidential Interview is now on air, all the president's candidates namely Sen. Manny Pacquiao, VP Lennie Robredo, Sen. Ping Lacson, Mayor Isko Moreno, and except for Sen. BongBong Marcos are all present on set.
The starting questions are too intense to watch, I haven't decided who to vote for this coming election and this interview was a good start to see all of these candidates' intentions to our country.
"Sayang" & "Naku" I was too stunned by Sen. Ping Lacson answered that he gave to Jessica Soho when they were given a chance to describe the picture that they were showing on set's screen to describe just using one word. Those pictures that were appeared were the image of the current Pres. Rodrigo Duterte when he describe the image as "sayang" as for the appearance flag of Chinese undoubtedly uttered "naku". As if saying that he's a little disappointed in the current administration.
Apart from what has already been stated, these four presidential candidates' responses to Jessica Soho's question were as tries to follow.
"Ano ang inyong diagnosis o sa tingin ninyong sakit nating mga Pilipino at ano ang gamot o prognosis for recovery?" (What is your diagnosis, or what do you believe our Filipinos' disease is, and what is the treatment or prognosis for recovery?)
I salute Jessica Soho and all of the GMA Public affairs staff for having the guts to throw this kind of question at the presidential aspirant. Of course, all four of these individuals responded to Ms. Jessica Soho's question with honesty and dedication.
VP Lennie Robredo as she points out in her response, we Filipinos have a habit of forgetting our value system from time to time and claiming that we do not learn from our mistakes. Well, I sort of agree with her response because she can't say it without a visible lack of understanding that there are not only members of Congress, but also every Filipino citizen.
Sen. Lacson stated that more of us have become hopeless, helpless, and dreamless. He also boldly stated that the government was at the root and end of the Philippine dilemma and that the solution should also come from the government. Well, I believe it was indeed, One of our lessons was based on the personal knowledge I gained from our previous subject about the Spanish conquest, and it addressed the issue of corruption in the government, which was tainted due to the selfishness of the previous rulers at the time.
"We Filipinos are stubborn, and we don't follow the law." This was Sen. Pacquiao responded, It was a simple act of aggression, but it turned out to be a good one, not only for the citizens but also for his colleagues in Congress, who had previously disobeyed the law. It is also true that the country's economy will not recover despite the sacrifices made by those in charge to solve other problems in the country because many people do not follow the law and refuse to cooperate when they do not like the leadership of a single person.
Political dynasty, this was Yorme's (Mayor Moreno) simple answer, he emphasizes that politics should not be passed down through the generations.
Senate Bill No. 1765 or the Anti-Political Dynasty Act of 2018 defines political dynasty as the "concentration, consolidation, and/or perpetuation of public office and political powers by persons related to one another within the second degree of consanguinity or affinity." This was proposed by Senator Francis Pangilinan in the year 2018.
However, apart from this information of the Senate bill, I believe that having a political dynasty can be a long-term source of corruption. I agree with Mayor Isko's proposal to give other people who want to serve the country the opportunity to be leaders, but it will not be easy, especially since having a name in public is one of the most difficult things for a regular citizen to do.
From the beginning of the program, all of their responses were sincere and obvious to be full of dedication. Their responses are good, but they still have flaws, which is to be expected, especially since all of the candidates have a problem in our country. I'm still undecided about who to choose, but I'm hoping that by listening to this interview, I'll be able to see their goals for our country. I hope that every internet user will listen to the presidential candidates' every goal and platform, as well as avoid conflicts in public or on the internet because every citizen has a different viewpoint. Respect for what others choose and a reminder to every one vote wisely.

I enjoyed watching the interviews. Haha. The most sayang of all is Ka Leody not being included in it. May ibubuga din naman si Ka Leody but they didn't give him a chance to share his thoughts.
