Last Day Best Day
During the Christmas holiday, I was so busy that I never had time to go out and have a good time with my friends. I spend the majority of the holiday season doing school activities that have been assigned to us because I set a goal to complete all of my activities by Christmas, but I didn't accomplish that goal and ended up cramming on New Year's Eve instead of Christmas.
The second day of my Christmas break, January 2nd, and I still haven't had time to enjoy it just for a day, at least that's what I thought after making my bed until a friend called and invited me on a road trip. Of course, who would turn down a rare invitation like this? I hurriedly prepared because he said he was going to pick me up right after the call. The fact that we were going with a friend from our former school, which was like a mini get together, made me feel like a flash of light as I met up with my friend and jumped over his car.
We merrily rode for like two hours in Lucena City looking for a good place to eat when we decided to go to Slash, a classic vibe restaurant. We were amused by how fancy the place looked and how good the food was while still being affordable, but they also had this issue with their crew. I wasn't attempting to discredit them; rather, I was a hospitality management student who couldn't help but notice the performance of the staff. A few of them have an attitude problem, which you may wonder how I say because one of our friends accidentally spilled his water on our table. When I approached one of their waiters, I politely requested that they clean our table, and we were about to apologize for the incident, he gave us an unpleasant look, as if he was saying in his head that we did it on purpose. He even said things that I didn't think a hospitality worker should say; I assumed it was in the etiquette of every hospitality worker to remain calm and polite. We couldn't speak any more because we didn't want any more attention from the people at the other table, so we left the restaurant disappointed after taking our food.
We then decided to go for another drive and later went out to try one of the city's bars. We ended up at The Horizon, which was my first time in a bar, so I couldn't tell you what was nice and what wasn't about it. Our stay there was so enjoyable, and we spent about an hour talking while having a beer under the table, talking about stuff and catching up on the days we'd missed.
We went into the city's capital after our stay at the bar, where the tunnel of lights can be found. We were amused by the details of each fairy light, and the place was fascinating enough for us to take plenty of videos and pictures. Like us, many people in the area take advantage of the holiday season before the classes begin again. My heart desires to reminisce about those precious times when I could relax without the pressure of studying and spend time with a friend.
We went home a little late, but it was worth it all worth it for the last day of our Christmas break. I can honestly say that I got the most out of the vacation in such a short period of time.
