Since my exploration of bitcoincash began, this is the most courageous thing I have done. It is a matter of overcoming fear and trying to open the people's eyes to reality, not minding their positions. What was I thinking? Where did I gain such courage from? Well, I believe BCH has internalized in me some of its characteristics which includes; putting away fear of the giants and leading the people to the right path.
It was on Monday 19th April I got notified that I had been assigned to a new unit. It didn't come as a surprise though since I had expected that to happen. What made it worrying was the stories I have heard from fellow students of how hectic the oncology unit is and the discipline they display towards the young medical students. Many students have complained about how the consultant, registrars and other doctors in the unit easily get pissed at little misconducts. But I was particularly happy that I was going to have my first experience in the theater and surgical Wards.
Tuesday came and it was a day scheduled for my team to be in the theater. After the morning lectures, I hurriedly went to the surgery department, headed to the changing room with my colleagues to put on my theater wear. We finally made our first appearance in the theater. The surgery was already in progress. We watched while the chief surgeon struggled and manipulated the surgical instruments in order to excise the cancerous part of the colon from a 45 years old man. He was soon done and gave the way for his assistant to do the finishing.
After we were out of the theater, the unit senior registrar who was the chief surgeon called for the 8 of us that were the students newly posted to his unit for a brief orientation. It was all about the dos and don'ts. Immediately after that, we headed for the Wards with 2 registrars, and 2 resident doctors and a house officer. While we were on the Ward rounds, the registrars were already assigning patients to each of the 8 of us to clerk and present to the consultant the following day. This was when It downed on me that the rumors were correct. They are as serious as we have heard.
I did my clerking and with the help of other senior colleagues, I was able to put my information together in the appropriate way.
It was Wednesday morning, yesterday 22 April: when it was time for the Ward rounds, I joined my fellow students and we made our Way into the Ward. My heart skipped a bit as I sighted a tall strange man standing beside the bed of the patient assigned to me while 6 other doctors gathered around Him. I assumed him to be the consultant and my assumption was right. He was asking a resident doctor specific questions about the conditions of the patient when we arrived. Soon after our arrival, they were almost done with the patient when the senior registrar called his attention to our presentations.
He asked; who clerked this patient? And my heart skipped again while I struggled to say; I'm the one sir. I was told to come and present. I started the presentation and was done in no time. The consultant remark was "Good Job, keep it up" and I felt relieved.
After the Ward rounds, the consultant who is also a professor called all of us in his unit together for a brief orientation, advice and encouragement. He did a lot of talks and before hands, he was already complaining about negligence from the government. That was when he drew our attention to a patient we met in the Ward who should have been scheduled for surgery but not yet because, her deposit hasn't been confirmed even though her husband had initiated the transaction since Monday. That always happens; if you don't make the necessary payment when it comes to expensive surgeries, you would only be placed under drug management.
He was complaining bitterly of how similar cases had brought about serious complications to patients due to delayed surgeries. According to him, they had written to higher authorities many times so they could establish a faster payment methods like Bitcoin but to no avail. The feedback they always get is that; crypto currencies are not reliable assets to be accepted as payment.
While he continued to say those things, Bitcoincash was the only thing ringing in my head. If they knew how fast BCH is, this would not be happening; so I said to myself.
Then came the commotion. The consultant asked a question which the other colleagues perfectly understood to be rhetorical but due to how deep I was in thought, I received it as a direct question and immediately gave an answer. I could imagine my colleagues all turning to look at me. Oh wait! Did I just answer the consultant without being asked?!
His question was; "if not that the government doesn't care, Is there any other payment method faster than Bitcoin?" And my answer was; "Bitcoincash is faster". Everywhere was quite for a while as he focuses his lens to locate me. Which one is that? He asked. Then I decided to be bold and said; "bitcoincash is also a crypto like Bitcoin and could be used for any form of payment. It is a thousand times faster and even more reliable than Bitcoin. It also charges lesser transaction fees as compared to Bitcoin". "Wow, I would have to check that out" was his words. The relief I got this time around was even better than the one I experienced after my presentation.
Later that day, my fellow students were passing comments on my courage and even asked me to tell them more about BCH. I did my best.
I knew when the consultant said Bitcoin, he was wrongly referring to BTC instead of BCH. He sounded like someone that had used BTC in the past but do not know about the latest developments. I'm happy to have let my consultant know about BCH's existence and stopped him from misleading the other doctors and students into believing that BTC is still the fastest method of payment.
BCH is now part of me and I'm happy to be a proud user.
The consultant gave in way for you through his question. Thank God you made him know about BCH which I know he would try it out and give his remark on how faster bch is in its transaction. Bch is part of me too that I love sending bch to my friends.
