The best Reunion!

I always stop the radio or my cellphone if the music starts to play. I'm not a fan of the music because it made my mother die because of it. 

She didn't eat and sleep because she was focusing on her career. Yes, my mother is a singer. She has a band. However, their band was not popular anymore because of the age of their songs. She tried to compose a song for their bands, and her dream was to be a popular singer again, but she ended up dying. 

That day, I promised myself that I wouldn't sing, but I ate my words because of Duke. He's a great singer in our school and has been my best friend since I was in grade three. He is handsome, intelligent, and, of course, talented. The girls in our school are going crazy because of his charisma.

He's the one who pursued me to sing. He knows that I don't want to sing, but he's so naughty, so I tried to practice my voice until I entered the music contest at our school. At first, I was really nervous because it was my first time singing in public, but my handsome best friend was always supporting me. The singing contest has ended and I'm the first placer. Not bad for a first-timer like me.

I joined and joined in the singing contest until someone discovered my talent. But I refused her offer to me. I'm content with what I have. But Duke got mad at me.

"What are you doing? That's a big opportunity for you! " He said, with a high voice.

"I already say to you that I don't want to sing, Duke!" I said

And he walked out.

"Didn't you say you've liked Duke since you were in elementary school?" Monica said. My friend

I nodded.

"Ow! Did you have a crush on him until now? " She asked with tease on her face

"Yes,but I don't want to confess him. So shut up your mouth and don't say him,what I say to you,lol!" I said

I don't want to expose my feelings to him. I don't want to sever our friendship, which we've had since elementary school. Sometimes I tried to confess to him, but my mind always said no. Yeah, he's handsome. A very good handsome man.

A week had passed when Duke tried to convince me to accept the offer that I had already refused. And I always say to him, "no" and "I'm not interested". He's a guy who always supports you in whatever decision you make, but now I don't know what happened to him. So I confronted him. 

"Why are you mad at me?" I asked

"Nothing," he immediately answered.

"Nothing?! But why are your actions towards me so cold? " I tried to calm myself.

"Do you want to know why? Because I want you to forget your mother's past! It's really different now, Elyse! Why are you so scared to do it again? " He said with a low tone.

"No! I promised myself that I would never sing again, Duke. The last time I sang was because of you! " I said and ran.

Yes because of you, because I love you.

I'll never see his face again after that day. He tried to talk to me, but I refused. He tried to visit me in our house, but I refused to see him. I tried to stay away from him, and it's right. I never saw him. That day, even my best friend Monica was not by my side.

My father talked to me about my talent. He asked me why I didn't want to sing again, even though I had an angelic voice. I told him the truth, that I wanted to sing, but I was scared too. I'm scared that what happened to my mother will happen to me too. 

My father is a big help to me and my siblings. They tried to convince me to sing again and practice my voice. And after so much convincing, I've agreed to practice my voice and re-join the singing contest. 

I wanted to tell to Duke, but he never contacted me or texted me. He's a ghost now. Even Monica was a ghost too.

A year has passed, and finally I'm 22 years old. I still join singing contests in the mall or at fiestas.

And guess what? I'm always a winner in the contest, and it's a big help to my family the amount that I get every time I win.

I want to find Duke because I want to tell him my journey in the singing industry. He's the one who motivate me but, where's he is?

While I was typing on my computer, Chin texted me and invited me to the big event. It's a wedding gathering! I texted her back what kind of wedding it was and she said, "Church wedding."

"So what's up?" I texted her with a confused face.

"Uhm.. can you sing at their wedding? The one singer I got was called to cancel her performance because of the emergency. " She texted

"Okay, but I have to think first because I have some school works to do. You see, I'm graduating. " I texted back.

"Please! I need you. You're the best singer. That's why I like you. Give me your price, lady!" so annoying and fake friends,lol!

She's my friend when the two ghosted me. I agreed to her deal with me, and the price that I gave was just a joke, but she accepted it. What a generous person! I don't know who the main even of the wedding, because Chin didn't give me an invitation just a address of the venue. So I went to the venue and texted her that I was already there.

"Hey! I'm glad that you are here. I thought you were just joking. Because the bride's mother is so strict, I desperately need a singer for this event. Thank you, my friend! " She said, while hugging me. 

"HAHA, so I'm your savior, right?" I said while hugging her back. 

"So, who will get married? Your friend? " I asked her

"Yes, actually, she's my cousin. She's pregnant. That's why the wedding is so fast." She innocently said

While we were talking, the event organizer announced that the wedding had started. So I walked on the side of the church. Also check the mic. 

The event started. When I was about to sing, the man who walked first in the center of the church was the man who I love. The man who always supports me and my best friend.

He was shocked when he saw me, and I was also shocked because I never thought that he was the groom of this wedding. I wanted to run outside and cry, but the wedding had already started, so I focused on my business. I sang with tears in my eyes. When the bride was walking, I started to burst into tears because the bride and groom of this wedding were my two best friends who left me like nothing.

Do I feel betrayed or is it my fault because I kept my feelings toward him?

Great! And she's pregnant! I think this is the best reunion in my life. My two Best friend's wedding and I am the singer of their wedding! Great, Reunion!
