While I'm at it, I will be writing again. Despite the requirements that need to be done, writing for me is equally important.
(This was supposed to be written and published last night but despite my mood to write, my eyes didn't cooperate and it just closed. I wrote the above paragraph and I do not know anymore what happened. I woke up with the crying kid beside me but it was already hours away than when I have written the above.)
I was looking at the pillow of my daughter. The design is flowery and it's colored pink. I have always wondered how photographers took amazing photos. So just for fun, I tried experimenting on how I take a photo of the flower designs of the pillow.
Well, I had to have good lighting but I don't have that at the moment so I told myself, I will try to focus on 'focus'.
Then I just gave up and told myself, maybe you can just focus more on your lesson plans and assignments. You're not a photographer and leave that job to photographers.
I argued with myself that with the rise of media nowadays, I might as well learn even just a little skill in photography.
My other self told me that I have a point but I will have to wait for ample time. Besides I will not be joining any competition anyway and that I am not required at the moment to be a photographer.
I still kept at it until I remembered the golden ratio. I knew then that ratios being considered by photographers may have something to do about the golden ratio. But since I am not researching right now, I will just look into that some other time.
I took a photo then just did random editings and the result is the one you see below.
I really am not good at taking pictures. But I also believe that the easiest way to judge is to assess whether it looks good or not. Sometimes our eyes are the best judge. So we could also just experiment because as they say, experience is the best teacher.
But then, we also need to consider that we all have our own area of discipline to focus on. If needs be we can just enlist the help of experts for different matters.
It's good to know a lot of things but being a jack of all trades is sometimes very exhausting. It's best then to have some focus so that at least you can dig deeper and learn deeper. Your inclination will tell you which aspect or area to focus on.
I actually do not know if Math indeed is my focus because I tend to seek more things than just focus in Math. But the good thing is that when all other things seem blurry, I tend to my specialty and I focus on it.
I don't know if I am even making sense with what I am saying right now. Let us just say, it's rather complicated.
But the point remains that when you are doing something, focus is essential. When you get distracted, it will have an impact to what you are doing.
There were times where I was guilty of writing while attending a zoom class or meeting. I thought, the lesson is familiar anyway. I may just go over our lesson so I will be able to do the assessment. But the downside of doing that is there might be something new which you will be missing. Nowadays, there are a lot of updates if not outright changes. Therefore, it is essential to listen to what your professor have to say.
Other things which I usually miss from not fully focusing on our zoom is when there are assigned activities. I will just realize that the prof is calling out my name and I have to at least sound a little busy with something. But I know that is also some kind of disrespect. We have what we call as back channel but if you are not careful, your full attention may be taken away altogether.
So my recommendation is if at all possible, be focused on what your are doing or on what ever matter you have at hand.
Agree! Been a while since I saw your works in here. :)
