Depression at its peak Depression is a serious Condition that may appear ridiculous until you are unable to feel anything, even on an emotional level. You often become bored with what you enjoy doing, and you have an inclination to become irritable. You may enjoy watching movies and listening to music, but after you are diagnosed with depression, you will lose enthusiasm to view movies again, and listening to music that helps you cope with your depression will become inconvenient and time consuming. Every day looks to be the same because you continue to perform the same things; everything emerges bleak, and you find no excitement or happiness each day; it appears as if you are re - experiencing each day. A time will come you will get weary of sleeping and spend the day lying in bed staring at the ceiling or glancing at your phone and doing nothing positive and productive, the processed food that you can't live without will become something you don't even consider about anymore. Even if you try to motivate yourself by doing something you enjoy, you will question whether you are wasting your time. As time flies, you develop low self-esteem, lack concentration, you lose interest in even trying to socialize with people close to you, and all you want to do is sit alone in your room and do nothing. You won't feel desperate for food if you're depressed, and you won't realize you haven't eaten because you don't have any appetite. Probably the most disgusting part is that you won't accomplish anything everyday, you get fatigued quickly and believe that no one needs you and that you've always been a liability to others. Most of the time, your best friend will notice what's going on and will try to help you feel better, but your pessimistic self will not be excited, and you will occasionally chase them away with your temperament, and they will continue to check on you, but you will do the same by having to chase them away with your traumatized attitude. Even on days when you're really hungry and want to prepare and cook, the thought of getting up only to walk up to the kitchen and grab the food you want is physically demanding, so you just lie down and wait for the day to pass. At some point, all you want to do is go for a long walk alone at night and keep walking till you get exhausted because you don't want to see anyone, and sometimes you will sleep for over 15 hours and be incredibly tired when you wake up. **My personal thought on depression; it has 2 main categories which I would love to share;** The first category is the behavioral symptoms. These symptoms include, but are not limited to: Loss of interest in doing things you used to enjoy Loss or gain of weight Changes in sleep patterns Non-behavioral symptoms make up the second group. The following are examples of symptoms, however they are not exhaustive: Feelings of guilt and/or worthlessness Difficulty thinking, concentrating, making decisions Aches and pains, as well as headaches, that have no physical origin Suicide attempts or thoughts of death or suicide on a regular basis. ****Final thought**** Being depressed is similar to contracting a disease that you brought on yourself, and while it can be addressed, you are the only one who can alleviate the problem yourself. When you're a teenager, you imagine "life" to be full of happiness and prosperity, but depression is a disorder that can appear "crazy" until it's identified. Depression isn't a trend or a means to draw attention to yourself. It is a dangerous condition that can strike at any time in one's life. Depression is characterized by a depressed mood, a loss of interest, and a lack of energy. It can happen in conjunction with other mental health issues including anxiety or addiction. Depression has an impact on how you think and feel about yourself, others, and your situation, as well as how you think and feel about the future. **A quick analogy to describe a depressed state of mind.** Imagine you're a kid who can play ball, and your buddies are outside playing football, but your parents have forbidden you from going out. You will be sad but not depressed, but in terms of being depressed, your friends are playing football outside, and you really want to play, but you stopped yourself from going out to play, and you were looking out the window at your friend playing football throughout that time. You indirectly cause depression, and you can pull yourself out of it if you can, and if you can't, encourage yourself to seek help from others. I appreciate you taking the time to read this💙.

Whoever is experiencing this now, I wish them to surpass this stage of life. No one is exepmted to this sickness. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, I hope they recover soon
Sometimes I feel the same way as depression but im not allowing myself to wallow those emotions because as you've said no one can help us but ourselves to fight those negative impacts. I know many of us to have a feeling of depressing especially nowadays that were facing this pandemic but one thing is for sure if we do things that can avoid those feelings of emptiness go for it fix it as soon as possible we are the ones who's capable of doing good in our life.
I'm also a victim of depression at one point but I'm better now
So dangerous is depression! I still can't believe it found among students in the university. People really need to be careful with this. thanks for throwing lights on this
It's really dangerous and it can also be avoided
Depression is a circle, it makes everything dark. I agree with you, we alone can help ourselves coz most of the time external help doesn't work.
Since Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest it can definitely be cured
Depression isn't a joke and should be taken seriously. For those people who are experiencing such things, please free to talk to me. You matter!
Yeah that's the energy I want, we should be ready to listen to whoever is going through it
Depression is a serious things. Many people are dying because of depression. When we do not share our words with anyone. Then we fall into the depression.
I hope we won't experience such thing called depression to the extent of losing a life
You portrayed depression very well, my friend. And the fact that a depressed person can save himself from this situation if he wants to, the last example you gave, was very interesting...
A good metaphor to describe what it feels to be depressed, and I love when you say >*encourage yourself to seek help from others*. That's very important and it can be a game changer for all of us who battle with that condition. God bless you dear.
Depression is just like been worried . In some of my article I posted 1 month ago where I talked about worry is pain , be depressed also mean you are worried . We should all avoid it , I will surely kill
I think depression is when you choose to suppress your feelings, happiness or just low morale to do anything. Its best to speak to someone and know that you are not alone.
When there is neither the strength nor the desire to do anything, it is very difficult to get rid of a depressive state on your own. And if we are talking about severe forms of depression, it is almost impossible. In such cases, you need to see a doctor, if you can not go to the doctor, let your friends or relatives help you to go to him.
Depression is something that takes different forms of that I am really sure. I have gone through several episodes and I must say that they aren't exactly the same feeling. But the emptiness is always there.
