I couldn't write much today, being busy preparing our usual place of worship for Sunday service. I got really exhausted from working right from the early hour of the morning to late in the evening. We need to get the place of worship ready for the people since our government has relapse the ban on public worship places.
It's been almost four months since we last gather for a worship service at our meeting place. You can imagine how hard it must be to get the house cleaned. Certainly, it won't be easy knowing that there is not really any one to call upon to join the work in having our place of worship cleaned for Sunday service.
As the leader and pioneer of our congregation, i need to take the job of cleaning the church upon myself knowing fully well how important this Sunday service will be for many of us. The joy of meeting friends and love ones after almost four months of seperation due to covid- 19, singing and dancing together in love and harmony certainly would be a great time for us. But we have a problem.
Churches are only allowed to have a minimal numbers of people in worship service not longer than two hours. For us with a total of hundred congregants we are only allowed to have a maximum of twenty people in attendance at a service. What this means is that people will still find it hard to meet their friends on a Sunday service. However, we have to work out a plan. And as stated by our government, we can have about three services every Sunday with one hour interval between each service. Like this all our congregants could have a chance to attend Sunday service.
COVID-19 has really affected Christiandom and individual. A lot of people has lost their fire for God. The regular weekly spiritual exercise like fasting and Bible studies has lost its place in the life of many, hence the joy that filled my heart when i heard of the reopening of churches in my country Nigreria. Tomorrow Sunday will be a day we will live to remember. Finally we have got to meet again, can't wait for this service.
God bless you all.
What joy you must have for worshiping God, it is true that the pandemic does not allow us a lot of crowding, you will have to develop strategies so that people do not get cold, I suggest that you make WhatsApp groups and the members of the church will Unite and there they do their activities, here in Venezuela is doing that.
