Frozen yoghurt can also be abbreviated to Fro-Yo, and for this frozen yoghurt without an ice cream maker, note that the honey in this recipe is not just for sweetness but it's what makes the fro-yo scoopable, adding or using sugar is what stops the ice cream like crystals to form and keeps the yoghurt soft. So adding honey is still the best option because it's not just to sweeten but it's what makes it scoopable like ice cream. While if you use sugar, it makes the ice not to form in the yoghurt thereby making it too soft or watery.

Another tips to know before delving to making Fro-Yo without an ice cream maker; you can use any type of Frozen fruits, but sometimes it changes the color of the Fro-Yo, you can also use any flavor and percentage of fat yoghurt.

You can add more or less honey based on the sweetness of the fruits and sometimes your taste preference.

How to Prepare without ice cream maker;

And for the Fro-Yo without an ice cream maker, you can get a food processor, and in the bowl of a food processor, combine the Frozen fruits, your Greek Yoghurt, Vanilla Extract and Honey. Then pour all the ingredients in the food processor, process the mixture until it's creamy for about 5 minutes or more until it's smooth and homogeneous. Then scoop the mixture in your preferred cup size, and put inside the freezer or freeze.

Serve the Fro-Yo immediately.

  • You can also transfer the mixture to an airtight container and freeze it in the freezer until it's ready to be served.

Pls note that; the type and size of Frozen fruits will determine how long it has to be blended in the food processor. Sliced frozen bananas may require few minutes of blending, while larger frozen strawberries or sliced mango (harder fruits) may require upto more minutes to blend.

Serve and Enjoy your Fro-Yo!
