Loving me was her greatest sin Bartsan academy is the school every child wants to go to, they have the best teacher and teaching facilities, the school was made only for the rich, my name is Paul and I’m from a poor background, my dad is a mechanic and I do help him in his shop. The news of the scholarship exam I took in Bartosan reached I and my dad at his shop in the afternoon while we were repairing a man’s car, when the letter was brought to us, I was the first to open it, I saw the admission and approval of scholarship letter and tears rolled down my cheek, I told my dad everything the letter said and he was very happy too, we close down for the day, went hope to celebrate with my mom, oh, I forgot to mention, I’m the only child of my parent. I had to transfer from my previous school to the new school where I have no friends, before my resumption date, I was given my uniform and all the other things I would need, I got off the bus and headed towards the gate of the school, the gate was so big, I saw different cars coming to drop different boys and girls, everything there looks new and amazing. After the morning assembly, I went to the principal office, he was glad to see me and he took me to my class, immediately we enter, all eyes were on me, I was a bit shy and scared at the same time cause I know everyone in that class are kids of some prominent people, he principal introduce me, said I was a transfer student and I would be joining their class today, he gave me a seat and I went straight to have my sit. After he left, 3boys and 2girls walked towards me and were like. 1boy: what’s your name? Me: Paul 2nd girl: not a bad name 2nd boy: what school did you get a transfer from 3rd boy: his dad must be pretty rich 1st girl: you don’t need to answer them, ok? So tell me, what profession does your father do. Me: he is a mechanic 1st girl: whaoo, you mean your father builds car, you must be very lucky, what car brought you to school today? Overwhelm with all these questions and talk, I remembered back in my previous school, my dad was one of the most respected and well-known man in the school, he was a mechanic and most student-parents take their taxi cab for repair at his shop, also he provided all I need, I was also among the first to pay their school fees, I eat well and also looking good, so I felt I could also brag about my dad to my new classmate. **Thanks to this wonderful people** Me: No, my dad doesn’t build car, he is a mechanic, he repair car at st Johnson junction, he own a shop there, he also have many customers, I do help him sometimes at his shop. Also…………… Before I could finish, they all busted into laughing, I wonder what I said wrong, have I said anything funny, as I was still confused about what just happened, another boy from the back shouted and said, he is one of the students that got in through scholarship, they shouted “oohhhh” and walk away. The day was almost over and no one has said a word to me when the literature teacher walked in and asked a question about one of my favorite books “purple hibiscus”, he said, the death of Kambili's father, was it the fault of her mother or the father's fault? I raised my hand to answer so did another girl, I looked towards her place and saw an unfamiliar face, has she been in this class all along, I did scan through the class but didn’t see her, she was the first to answer, and her voice was like date of lady sing, it was melody to my ears, as I listen to her, I was also against her opinion, I was asked to answer, I went against her opinion with my point and she was surprised I could tackle her, she look at me again and smile, I began to blush but kept a straight face. The day went fast and it was closing time, everyone rushed out of the class, as I stepped out of the class, I saw her walking towards me, she got to my front and asked, what is your name…………..
