The importance of manners in everyday life

Courtesy is an important element in daily social life, because by showing a polite attitude, a person can be appreciated and liked by his existence as a social being wherever he is. In social life between fellow human beings, of course we have norms / ethics in dealing with other people. In this case, manners can provide many benefits or good influences on oneself and others.

Courtesy means the rules of life that arise from the association of a group of people in society and are considered as the demands of the community's daily interactions. After we know this understanding, it can be concluded that politeness should be carried out wherever we are, according to the needs of the environment, place, and time because politeness is relative where what is considered the norm of politeness varies in each place, such as manners in home environment, school, campus, social, and so on. We do this wherever we are, we will always be respected, appreciated, and liked by our existence by others.

Courtesy must be applied wherever in accordance with the demands of the environment in which we are located. For example, in the home environment, both inside and outside the home environment, the manners that must be realized include: Respecting parents, such as good behavior, speaking gently, telling the truth, not doing things that can hurt his feelings such as lying and not listening to his advice. Loving brother, sister, brother, and the whole family by speaking good words, not speaking harshly and maintaining harmonious relationships with all family members. Respect the neighbors who are around the house by frequently greeting each other when meeting each other, and helping each other when someone is in need.

After that, good manners in the school and campus environment include:

Maintain behavior, such as behaving well and commendable, respecting teachers or lecturers, and complying with school / campus regulations. Maintain the cleanliness of the school / campus and play an active role in social activities at the school / campus.

Now most people who do not have good manners, such as fighting their parents, saying rude things to parents, hurting other people's feelings, etc. It is a pity because the attitude of courtesy should exist in each individual. Most of the shows that are broadcast on private television now do not provide examples of politeness and courtesy. Just think about it, if you were in the position of an older person, finding your child speaking rudely, you would be very disappointed. Now is the time for us to introspect and maintain the spectacle of children who are still underage so that they still have a polite and courteous attitude.
