Anak Krakatau, which is one of the main causes of the tsunami in the Sunda Strait and its surroundings, has a long history. If you know, the actual age of the mountain was more than 30 years ago and since the beginning it has continued to evolve in terms of shape.
What are the stages of the evolution of the Mount Anak Krakatoa like?
And here's the full review.
1. Child of Mount Krakatoa
Talking about Anak Krakatau, you must talk calmly about its parent, namely Mount Krakatoa. The mountain is an active volcano that has existed for a long time. Its largest explosion in the modern world occurred on August 26–27, 1883.
The eruption of Mount Krakatoa was recorded as one of the worst natural disasters in recorded history. The power of the explosion reached 200 megatons, or at least 13,000 times the nuclear bomb that destroyed Hiroshima. It was only in 1927 that a new island emerged from the Krakatoa caldera. The island is called Anak Krakatau.
2. Completely permanent form the island in 1930
In the early days of the emergence of Anak Krakatau, the island which contains an active volcano did not fully appear continuously. There are times when the island recedes and disappears from view. This happened between 1928 and 1930 and was recorded three times, before finally becoming completely permanent above sea level.
3. Have a different eruption
Judging from the history of Anak Krakatau itself, many eruptions occurred on the new mountain. In the period 1928 to 1930, Anak Krakatau erupted Surtseyan-type eruptions, eruptions at sea. Then in 1960, the eruption turned into a Vulcanian type that emitted magma of short duration and small, but evil. Even then, it still changed in 1981 to a Strombolian eruption that formed a cone at its peak.
4. Growing towards the southeast
The western area of the volcano's slopes is steeper than the east. At least more than 28° steeper slope than the east. But in 1981 there was an explosion that changed the path of magma activity to the southeast. This makes the growth of Anak Krakatau more towards the southeast and was even recorded until 1995. This gives an estimate that the landslide of Mount Krakatoa due to the eruption in 1883 also led to it.
5. Still "trying" to form a complete mountain that is active until now
Until now, Anak Krakatau is still erupting and forming. In 2010 alone, there have been eruptions that have not stopped. It is still unknown and predictable to what extent Anak Krakatau will be formed. The activity of the Anak Krakatau volcano indicates that we must be ready at all times for other things that will happen.
Considering that the island there is also continuously being formed, it is not impossible that the history of the past two centuries will repeat itself.
But the surrounding community certainly doesn't want it n it happens again, because it will cause a very powerful tsunami disaster.

I know this mountain, and I also really like learning about nature, yes, Anak Krakatau will indeed be a threat if one day it erupts again.
