Gyms everywhere, like mushrooms they pop up left and right offering bunch of promos to attract potential clients, from low membership fee to 24/7 to free trainers and it's not cheap.
If your a newbie, either find a spot then observe and learn or go to them benches with thick plates and show how big your dick is and get into an accident which I prefer the latter.
Now, I go to a community gym, part of the youth center in my district that costs around a dollar and three cents US for a yearly membership, you heard, one dollar and three cents. Talk about cheap. It ain't your typical gym where equipments are brand new, its old barbells and dumbbells and bars and plates. Young and old go here and do their workouts, some knows what to do while for some, it's more like I want to workout too without a damn idea how to lift weights. Friends are made here and their "workouts" turned to chat and laughter.
For an experienced gym goer, lifting right means proper control and contractions, it's not how heavy one can lift but lifting right and THE most important is having a program. Chest and back, arms and shoulders, legs then abs. Rest your body and proper food. It'll make you strong and feel good.
My workout usually starts with decline barbell press: light weight for 20 reps then rest for a minute then mid weight for 15 reps and lastly with heavy weight for 10 reps. Same method for incline barbell press and flat bench press. Feel your inner chest contract everytime you push the barbell, its important. Lower slowly then release, like a spring. After chest I do dumbbell pull over for three sets with same number of reps as my chest exercise, next is dumbbell row, three sets lower reps (getting tired). Lastly, wide grip behind the neck pull-down, light, medium to heavy weight. Done.
Eat, rest, then have my whey protein after resting. Other body parts, the following day.
Tip on the ABS for the lazy ones without machines or sit ups or even leg raises. Exhale till your belly is flat, real flat and hold then do side crunches for several reps, you'll feel the burn. No machines. I do them standing. Everytime I want to.
I do.
