Penultimate weeks, social media was agog with the statement credited to the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu about the "stoning" of any South Eastern politician who is doing nothing to ward off the incursion of the killer herdsmen into the Igbo heartland.
Yes, Ohamadike in his passing remarks in Radio Biafra London literally mentioned Chief Nnia Nwodo, though, a statement which he withdrew amidst pleadings and intervention from Chief Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe. Since then some Igbo Facebook warriors had taken it upon themselves to taunt Mazi Kanu and IPOB, even as none of those talking these ills against them(Kanu and IPOB) has any Igbo organisation being championed in their names.
I have never advocated against criticising IPOB or Mazi Kanu of any kind. NO, FAR FROM THAT!
I comfortably enjoy any CRITICISM being levied against IPOB if it is tailored towards drumming up support and corrections but for the ones rooting for political correctness and intellectual bullshit, I hate to align with them.
The anger in me now is that when we thought the issues that lead IPOB and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu into pouring their uncalled venoms against some Igbo leaders had been put on the table of dialogue by some Igbo organisations, some of us here in Facebook are unashamedly berating IPOB and indirectly NdiIgbo as a whole in the open against the Igbo adage of "chasing a Kite away before blaming a chickπ₯" If we, Ndigbo decide to say it all about ourselves, nobody should murmur when a stranger spit in our face.
Meanwhile, I responded to Obinna Osagwu this morning, who, against the nature of an Igbo man, continues to maintain his bullied stand against IPOB even when every Igbo man is activating the "α»αΉ α»₯rα»₯ ube nwanne ebena akwa" mantra.
π π π π π π Obinna Osuagwu, I followed this your very post line by line, sentence by sentence and finally, paragraph by paragraph, but to the end point, you came readily pontificating, brick batting, up braiding and all the innuendos you could muster up!
When would we outlive this pouring of open venoms on ourselves?
Yes, before now there was MASSOB that's ably led by chief Ralph Uwazulike which was equally bullied by some South Eastern governors. Apart from some Igbo youths who tagged alongside Uwazulike, and Barrister Uche Okwukwu who singlehandedly had been appearing in all the whole courts where MASSOB members were arraigned for prosecutions, some able-bodied Igbo youths with the same mindset like you, Obinna had literally took the backseats, breathing heavy tantrums and bitter criticisms on them.
Besides, Barrister Benjamin Onwuka's Biafra Zionist Movement was not spared either by your likes. Barr Onwuka was pilloried and lampooned for attempting to hoist the Biafra flag and to subsequently announce the take off of the Biafra Republic at Enugwu state Radio station. Even as laughable his efforts could be, one is expected to levy a huge dose of sympathy on him as this was the one who was desirous of getting his people out of the present Nigerian political quagmire we are in now. But against all odds, you Obinna rallied your likes with same "intellectual" golden biros to make caricature of his efforts.
One point cleverly sift out of your analysis about the Biafran agitation which is peopled by the youths is your "somewhat" ignorance about the pre colonial administration of NdiIgbo.
Yes, highsight into the pre-colonial political development of NdiIgbo showed that "age-grade" (youths) played significant roles in the build-up to Igbo political administrations in Nigeria.
The inputs of this youth group were required in major issues affecting NdiIgbo as a people. Elders were not expected to execute some village social functions, hence the age grade is seen as the fulcrum of social change. Banishment of any wrongdoer, clearing of village stream and all that were done by this age grade.
Now, one wonders what informed the barrage of criticism pulling against IPOB by a few who don't even know its formation! Like the pre colonial Igbo age grade which stood against anything evil, IPOB stands to fill in the gap in this present day. Yes, whenever an elder is critiqued just for the good of all, it shouldn't be seen as a sign of disrespect rather it ought to be seen as a phenomenon for public good.
Additionally, it is even funny and out of place for one to come in the open to condemn IPOB just for the sake of initiating a process of shaming any political office holder who stands against the progress of NdiIgbo.
If in the prevailing circumstances, the Indigenous People Of Biafra( IPOB) continues to moderate its activities in an environment of peace against any person or persons who undermine(s) the peace and progress of NdiIgbo, I readily give my blessing.
Nigerian leaders are the most wicked people I have seen on Earth. Restructure is what the country needs
