Hidden Paradise Forest in the Ocean

As humanity, we have succeeded in reaching the moon and even planets by going out of the world. Okay, maybe we haven't set foot on a planet yet, but at least we can gather information about Mars, for example, with the robot explorers we've made.

Well, don't you think there is much in the world that we haven't discovered yet?

In today's article, I will talk about the mysteries under the ocean.

Labrador Sea

An important hotspot of ocean biodiversity has been found in the Labrador Sea off the coast of Canada. All thanks to a collaboration between a fish harvester and a group of scientists. This story goes back to when a fisherman had trouble pulling their nets from a depth of about 640 meters a few years ago. It looked like there was some kind of mound at the bottom of the ocean that day blocking fishing equipment. The fisherman thought he should never return there again, but was surprised to find that his damaged nets were filled with unusual marine life. Whatever was below was like an underwater forest of coral and animals.

Scientists finally heard about the discovery and were very interested. The reason for this was that the Labrador Sea was not explored enough. Researchers had never been to this area before. However, an attempt to rediscover the mound failed in 2020 due to the pandemic. Until recently, it was not possible for scientists to go down and investigate the life mound in full detail. What they found next was incredible. The mysterious mound turned out to be a gigantic geological feature the size of a 60-story building. The area was covered with bright pink corals, hanging gardens as well as ocean sponges growing like tropical trees. Scientists have also identified the extremely rare Popcorn coral, which can live for hundreds of years here. They also found many animals living within these corals, which are as sheltered as any forest floor. All in all, it was a pretty special find.

Alien Origins of Water

71% of our planet is covered with water, and this is what makes the earth appear blue. Also, water is what allowed life to flourish, and it will continue to exist millions of years after humans became extinct.

There is something really interesting about the water in our oceans. According to scientists, this water may have come from outer space. So the water in our oceans appears to have alien origins. After a Japanese robotic probe returned tiny particles from the 25143 Itokawa Asteroid, scientists found evidence that the water in our oceans came from other parts of our solar system. In fact, the material from the asteroid has allowed scientists to confirm that it's highly likely that more than half of the water on the planet has been filtered out by interplanetary dust at some point. They realized this when they found that the seized samples contained significant amounts of water. This water was the same as the water found on earth.

According to scientists like Luke Daly of the University of Glasgow, Earth likely absorbed all these dust particles as it orbited the Sun, allowing the water from the tiny dust particles to percolate from the sky to the planet. That's not all. Ice from both comets and asteroids had a huge impact on Earth's water levels, and a giant block of ice melted shortly after hitting the surface. So he created an ocean. If water came from outer space, then it can be said that all life originated from outer space.

Deepest Living Squid

Scientists have discovered the squid, which lives in the deepest waters of the world, at a depth of 5791 meters of the ocean. Submarine explorers didn't actually expect to see them alive here. Because they were on a mission to retrieve the USS Johnson shipwreck. This ship sank in 1944 during the Second World War. The weapons on board were found to be still perfectly preserved. The voyage aboard the USS Johnson was a big deal for the crew. Because it would be the deepest dive ever to a completed shipwreck. However, a few days before breaking this record, they discovered a real sea creature. While viewing footage of the dive in his office, Allen James suddenly saw something strange moving in a dark distance, and he knew immediately that it was some kind of squid cruising just above the ocean floor. In fact, this was truly extraordinary because no squid had ever been seen this deep. This squid had huge fins, which makes it truly unique among terrifying ocean creatures. The squid had long tentacles that it dragged through the water to catch its prey. It is also one of the most mysterious creatures in the world. This is because it is so deep. Because we know very little about the creatures that live here.

It is clear that we have only explored very little of the ocean. There are many unique habitats in many parts of our world that we have not yet encountered.

Isn't that fascinating?

Yes, it would be great to swim there.

It's amazing. In fact, people know very little and during their lives they explore only a small part of the world around them.

This is sad for them. I think we have to be curious about our world.
