Takoyaki Small Business Franchise
I've been thinking of having a local business a long time ago to have another source of fiat income. My husband and his friend decided to have a small business venture together. It is the Takoyaki snack they franchise from someone his friends knows personally. When he told me about the plan, I approved it right away.
He told me the plan because he doesn't have any money left for capital anymore. All his savings burnt out after our wedding. I have spare money from my crypto holdings. I decided to sell some to support his financial needs going back to work and this small business venture.
What Is a Takoyaki snack?
Takoyaki is a Japanese snack, it is ball-shaped and cooked in a specially molded pan. The original ingredients of Takoyaki are minced or diced octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger, and green onion.
But in the Philippines, it has different ingredients. They twisted ingredients to make them commercialized snacks since seafood is pricey.

The above photo is the finished product of our Takoyaki and is ready to sell.
How to cook Takoyaki?
Takoyaki has a special molded pan that is used to cook it to make it balls. I uploaded a video to my husband's YouTube account just to let you see how it is cooked.
As you can see the guy who conducted the demo just poured the Takoyaki mixture into the molded pan. The mixture is liquid making it easy to pour. After a while, he flipped it so it will not be burnt and gradually it forms into a ball.
In the video only the ham and cheese flavor are shown but it is the same with the veggies flavor..just add the cabbage and carrots instead of ham.
I apologize for the raw video, I just uploaded it without even adding subtitles. But it's easy to understand the process anyway, it's just a way to let you visualize what I am trying to say here.
Where to sell this kind of snack?
Usually, this kind of snack can be seen in the food stall in Malls. My husband's partner just think, why not sell it on the streets as well? Along with the streets foods sellers.
This Takoyaki snack has an advantage. It might be a little bit pricey compared to other street food snacks, but it is healthier. All ingredients are nutritious and not instant as it has veggies. Three balls can ease the customer's hunger, it's worth the price snack.
We sell it near the basketball court area. The customer flow in the area is pretty good.
This is our small cart, it has a motorcycle so we can move easily to different places if there are few customers on our current spot.
We had our dry run selling yesterday and it was successful. My husband and bro inlaw just sell the 1-kilo mixture for two hours only. Even if it was raining yesterday, they managed to sell out everything for two hours which means this snack is a good choice of business.
The tarpaulin is not done yet, as you can see the cart is too plain. Some customers just ask what they are selling, but still sold the try-out mixture given. It was pretty good to start.
Hopefully, this little business will bloom. We are planning to buy another and put some on my sister's inlaws place..if we managed to ROI on our capital. May God bless this little business venture we had. As it can help our family generate income as well not just us.
