I went out today to buy grocery needs for the house, also milk and other stuff for my daughter. It was my first time to wear a face shield.
Here in our country, it is now mandatory to wear masks, and face shields if you went outside. It is not very comfortable to wear since you will sweat and hard to breathe well along with the mask. But we have to follow safety protocols mandated by the government. According to health experts, it will help lessen the local transmission of the virus since the whole face is being covered, unlike mask alone. The eyes are also protected by the face shield.
A week ago, online sellers were like having a fiesta sale of face shields. Some of the sellers and suppliers are hoarding the stocks, exfoliating the demand to sell at higher prices later. Some people are really opportunists, do not consider other people as long as they fulfill their self greed, despite there is pandemic. Instead of selling it into affordable price they hoard and hold it. I don't know if this is just a business strategy or what by businessman and the government, nobody knows. But most people follow it, of course including me and my family. The new cases of coronavirus or Covid-19 in our country are still increasing, that is why DOTr mandated to wear a face shield in public places, and riding public transportation vehicles.
I follow safety protocols just to make sure I can avoid the virus by doing so because I care for myself and my family. Especially I have a child, who is in direct contact with me when I get home. I don't want her to get sick because of me neither one of the family. Some protocols being mandatory are lame or exaggerated but there's nothing wrong when you follow it, just think about your family who is at stake if you get the virus, everyone around you could be the next so better avoid than to face complications later. Self-discipline and hygiene can save us from the virus.
