Honour! Honour!! Honour!!!
It may sound so simple but yet complex. Honour means to regard something or someone with high respect. It can also means to fulfill and agreement, but in this article we will focus of regarding someone with high respect.
The Bible speaks about honour when it says "honour your father and mother".
Honour is not only a thing of the lips. When you honour soomeone it shows in what you say about that person, what you do for that person, and trust me Honour is not only to fathers and mothers (we'll talk more on that in course of this article).
Now let's look at what causes lack of honour also know as DISHONOUR
Familiarity: When people gets too familiar with someone, there's always a tendency to dishonour that person. Respect everyone, respect their decision, respect their privacy.
Inequality: This is one of the most common cause of dishonour, which is very rampant.
Men dishonour women because they don't see them as equals, because they feel they only belong in the kitchen, some even see their wives as sex machine. Where inequality reigns, there's is bound to be dishonour.
Pride: Why some people stay single is because of pride. Many people miss Opportunities because of pride. They feel they can't be talked to, they can't be corrected. People shout at their boss and get fired because of pride. Pride brings no good, understand that!
Ingratitude: This is regarded as the height of dishonour. It's the act of not appreciating the good that that has been done for you.
HOW CAN THIS BE CORRECT?
I'll highlight some ways this can be corrected and it should be corrected fast.
Respect Human rights.
Humility in service.
Speak positively about others
Respect people's opinions and decisions
Look after your neighbor, look after your fellow citizens.
Stop RACISM!!
Appreciate what is being done for you.
In conclusion I'd say "honour your father and mother and everyone, that your days in this world will be worthwhile"
