Pursuing Education as a career

"What's your course?"

"Education po"

"Ah, teacher" and they gave you that weird look.

I am not generalizing but admit it or not, sometimes, we are looking down on teachers. We think that it is a lowly job but no, it's a NOBLE profession. Stomach in, chin up, and be proud of your desired passion!

Here's a picture of us in our uniforms

Five years ago, I was undecided on what course to take in college. And before I realized it, I already am enrolled as an Education student. It was during our practicum days (5 months) that I experienced lot's of interaction with my students.

Hearing something like this is really heartbreaking "you're only a teacher!"

So what if I'm only a teacher? At least I've become a good teacher for some students. If you are wrongly accused and was heavily reprimanded by your educators, please don't hate all your teachers for it. They are also human. We have each of our flaws and we should learn to accept this.

Now that I can finally take a breather, I can say that, I finally did it! Until now, I don't really know why I pursued education. I guess it's to my fondness in history? Well, I originally wanted to be an archeologist but there was no formal course for that in our locality. Thus, I opted for the nearest track, the Social Studies. I experienced practice teaching and I find it FUN, but also STRESSING. There is no easy course, so let's take our time and persevere with our hard work.

I'll be ending my article with a message to my loved ones, I hope you can relate as a PARENT, a FRIEND, a FAMILY, or as an ACQUAINTANCE.

My mother, who raised us as a solo parent due to my fathers' early death

To my Mother,

I can't thank you enough for raising us with overflowing love and support. Words are not enough to express my gratitude that's why I'll let my actions speak for itself. I can't wait for the day I have a stable income to support you and give you a comfortable life.

Out of all my siblings, my brother was the only one who can attend my ceremony due to circumstances.

To my brothers and sisters,

We may not be chummy with each other and we often fight but I still care for all of you. I wanted to laugh at this message because I think it's cheesy, but remember, I'll always be at your side.. criticizing you.. joke hahaha. I'll always be here for you.

My relatives who gave financial support when their brother died (my father)

To my supportive Relatives,

I am really thankful for all the help you sent to us. If not for your support, I can't imagine how much hardship we would be facing. It was still engrained on my memories on how you helped us on our dire situation-when we are starving, you coincidentally brought us warm food; when we are sick and too poor to afford medicine, you are there to give a helping hand along with some nutritious drinks; when we don't have money to sustain daily living, you gave us occasional stipends; when we traveled to inquire on our dream school, you sponsored our fees; when our house was leaking because it was not completed, you arranged the roof. I am on the verge of tears remembering this moments but I could still see hope because of your kindness. Thank you. Thank you.

To all my friends

To my friends,

Oh, do I have? Joke, I love you guys. 😂

To my acquaintances,

You think you only talked to me for a while, but for me, it was a great relief. It may have been brief but you comforted me in a way you don't know. Thank you :)
