Kabaneri: Anime

What is your biggest fear?

It's zombie from me. After all. its not a farfetched idea. Everything can happen with change and we can't deny evolution. Even if we don't want to, our physique change in order to adapt to our environment. Because if we don't.. who knows.

Sometimes I just watch tear jerking story just for fun but this anime really dug to the deepest part of my heart. Pain and sadness clearly manifests the humans deepest emotions. Kabaneri is one of my favorite anime that I would never tire from.

Graphics

I always check the quality of anime before I watch one. The ql of Kabaneri is just superb. The fighting scenes were super elaborated and natural to watch.

The Plot

The story goes as Ikoma, the male lead, was turned into a kabane (zombie for short) but before the virus could take over his brain, he strangled himself to stop the virus. Thus he became neither a human nor a kabane. He's in the middle and was called a kabaneri (has the body of a kabane and the mind of a human).

The world has been plagued with the kabanes so humans hid behind Iron fortresses and mainly used trains for transportation. Kabanes were not the only enemies though, their are also enemies within. Human greed was portrayed in the story and stations were taken over by kabanes because of this selfish thoughts.

Without much choice, people abandoned their stations because it was no longer possible to live in given that it has been taken over by kabanes.

A single promise anchored the story, to turn the female lead back into human. With this in mind, the party travelled to retake their home from the kabanes and achieve their own dreams. What awaits them? Death (this saddened me the most but it was to be expected seeing that its a zombie story), happiness, grief, various emotions that would lead them to who they are.

This was really a good story :))
