A few days ago, I asked a friend of mine that I have not seen for two years now, I asked him to go into a relationship after his last break up with the love of his life why he is delaying going into another one, he said to me; Evelyn, I am just been careful.
This sunk into me, that many have gone through this part and have decided to grow a thick skin over themselves just to protect themselves from being hurt.
This is one of the reasons I am sharing this article today.
One of the days, I went to a program and while I stood up to leave, a guy who has not to have a personal chit chat with me walked up to me and said, Evelyn, why are you just been uptight for no reason, do you think you would ever find someone to love with this character of yours?
I just wasn't interested in talking to him or having banter with anyone about my uptight behavior, so I walked away from him and this question keeps ringing in me, when has it become a crime for the tough people to find love and be loved? Do the tough people don't deserve to be loved too?
I just keep pondering on this question and then I decided to share it with you all here.
You know, no man was born a tough being, everyone was created to live his or her life to the fullest but unfortunately, many would not allow that to happen as they love and enjoy seeing other people unhappy.
Because you see a smile on a persons face continually doesn't mean the face hasn't been faced with so much trauma that could have deprived them of that smile, or perhaps you don't know the thousands of scar that their smiles have covered just to look strong, tough and confident.
Do you think this tough person doesn't cry? Or you think they don't wish to drop down their shield and live a normal life just like everyone or you think they don't wish to live that life they've been dreaming of while they were young?
Unfortunately, they wish but they just can't drop down their guard down because they've gotten used to the fact that they just have to protect themselves from the harmful dart coming from left, right, and center, and most especially from people they call friends.
They have decided to build a shell as strong as a crocodile or perhaps a snail to protect themselves from people who do nothing but harm others and enjoy doing that and all you hear people say to this kind of persons are " Why are just been too uptight? You will never find love with this character of yours.
It is just so sickening, when has it become a crime for someone to be careful and be on alert, when? When did it become a norm that, those that are tough never finds love?
You think they don't have a heart or you think they don't cry? But sorry to burst your bubble, those people cry more than you do because they wished whatever changed them never happened to them, they wish they could just go back to being but they can't, because whatever happened to them changed them and made them realize they had another part of them they failed to realize.
They cry, clean their face, stand up and move on like nothing has happened like they are not hurt and all you do is judge them forgetting that there is an adage that says; "Don't judge a book by its cover" or just maybe it will be an honor for me to rephrase that as " Don't judge at all". If you've got nothing meaningful to say to someone, just keep shut and walk away instead of hurting them the more.
You don't know and can not tell why they are being uptight tough and building a hard skin around themselves, you just go out there and say the first thing that comes out of your mouth all in the name of advice.
Imagine a lady who has gone through the pains of been betrayed by her best friend and cheated by her two years lover, what do you expect her to do? Go about crying?
Hell no! she cries, braves up, and continues moving but with alertness and carefulness. Always ready to strike whoever looks suspicious and builds a tough skin around herself to protect herself from hurt again.
She deserves to love and be loved back because she is human and has gone through a lot.
When has been protective and tough become a crime in this world? This is my question to every one of us reading this article.
Thank you all for taking out time to read through my article. I love you allππ.
