If farmers could learn Accountancy, they will realize the data how much lost they gain for every cropping in every year and if you think your neighbor farmers receiving huge money profit per cropping seasons? Your wrong.

You, and I here at my 3rd part of the Series HybridX and I going to tell you its not yet the last, because farmers are straggling and I want you to know how they coping with the problem even the government can’t open a solution.

Hi I’m Eunoia, I am writing a series where I make ordinary farmers the primary character, if you are engaged on farm business tell me what you think in the comment toward this issue I going to untold.

LOSS YOU DIDN’T NOTICE ON RICE FARMING

A veteran old farmer could calculate its expected harvest sack of rice by just sighting its crops. But something is not yet revealed, because what they harvested has part already loss they didn’t notice. Ordinary people already seen, but they don’t see it’s a huge problem while I glance this a giant catastrophe in farming.

From sowing of seed and germination has already its loss, they buying the seed but the guarantee of germination can’t reach 100%. Its only 50-80%, it’s a big loss, after germination birds, rodents (rats) and mollusks (snail) have to get their also their parts. If you knew somebody who is in farming you must tell this to them.

Planting of rice has also under big guaranteed lost, manual (planting by hand) or machinated not all plants will adopt and stand its own some will wilt and some will rot.

During flowering stage of rice is the most crucial stage and damage loss are in greater quantity and has huge effect on quality. What you smell, the aroma also serves as attractant for emerging pest like rodents (Rattus rattus), sparrow (Passer domesticus) and insects. About 10-15% total lost are at the milking stage of rice plant.

20% is lost during harvesting and drying. Harvesting through manual or human job has a greater loss where he can’t take all the grain and some will spread unto the ground. During machineries, there are lower chances but also has an effect on the soil (Coming up next why).

Drying is also crucial to large losses, where a normal farmer spread its harvested grain in the cemented fields, where prone to human vehicle destructions, animal nearby like chickens and birds.

Even in Rice milling, has what we called rice rejects where damaged grain at drying is pulverized on tiny pieces which are considered rejects. And the saddest thing people going to purchased rice on a cheap amount because its has no brand name.

INPUTS COST OF A FARMERS

All business needs investment, like farming they need to purchase their inputs. Insecticides, fertilizer, payment for irrigation and harvester rental. I going to show you the high-priced product that is essential for farming.

Fumigant- for soil borne fungi, drenching of fungicide in needed to at least control the rotting of new planted plant. Its applied during the land preparation and basal fertilizations.

Insecticide- for insects and pest, they applied this after transplanting and during the development until the milking stage (grain is developed).

Herbicide- for weeds and unwanted plants that compete the nutrient of the soil or the space needed by the plant.

Molluscicide- to remove the snail pest that fed at the rice stem.

Fertilizer- fertilizer is applied during basal (before planting) 30 DAT (Days After Transplanting).

Irrigation management- they are paying for their plant water supply. In our place the rate of irrigation is range 1 sack of rice in every half of hectare and below and 2 sack of rich per hectare. This is under management of dam office central.

Harvesting Rentals- Farmers must pay for mechanical harvester like reaper and tresser.

Honestly, I’m bit emotional while writing article for you because I could picture those farmers, I met during my school days. People don’t see or read their suffering.

FARMERS AS ACCOUNTANT

You think Agriculture has no complex mathematics? Your wrong, because we need to calculate the right amount of fertilizer, Insecticide and herbicide applications and the errors (Loss)

What I am telling you is that the rice grain you eat today has survived from loss, that grain is too lucky to be in your plate, so respect those who worked hard for that.

If farmers become accountant and they realized that they been investing too much time, effort and money with gaining no profits, they might stop and you, I and we were be hungry. But they didn’t because they know how to be hungry.
