Countless times we all try to change our past. We still regurgitate, ruminate over the past and keep wishing that we got it all right at that time.
I have made so many bad decisions in the past that kept me thinking and dwelling on the matter for months. But the thinking did more harm than good, i feel sick and was almost hospitalised. Not until i received a talk from a therapist. I was advised to let go of the past. What will be will always be.
It was very difficult letting go but i just had to, for the safety of my mental and entire health.
Most of us are in this kind of messy situation, holding on to that past will end up destroying your peace of mind, your health and well being.
Stop looking at where you have been and start looking at where you can be.
Mike Murdock said, there's no future in the past. Absolutely there's no future in our past, the past is gone and can never be retrieved or reversed. Except you have extra super powers.
The more you look back, the less you will move ahead. Don't waste today regretting yesterday's actions, instead change your tomorrow by taking the right actions today.
Even in reality, looking back while walking makes you bump into oncoming things and makes you strain your neck. Likewise, looking back into the past does the same to your mental health and wellbeing.
If only we can turn back the hands of time, but no one can. The clock will still be ticking for others, even if you adjust yours backwards.
Lets try and live in the present, pressing on to live above our past and mistakes.
Live above that past:
heart break
divorce
sack from work
Betrayal from friends
Failure from school
Death of a loved one
Money loss in business
They were all bound to happen, the only thing we can do is to learn from our past and not dwell on them.
Who knows, there might be light at the end of the tunnel.
