There are messages that give us false details, giving us free money but we need to download first the link they gave, this text scam should be stopped, and the government needs to put action to these against this kind of aggression of cybercrimes and fake news that tear away the fabric of democracy, thinking every day without the safety from the measures, makes us vulnerable to trickery and scams, that take away our personal details, passwords of our accounts, most especially our e-wallets, it cause anxiety, thinking one day we might be the victim.
I became more aware of these text scams, they already include my name on their message which means those messages are meant for me, maybe they get all my details for the games I downloaded randomly that I see in ads.
Lesson learned: Don't click ads, links that randomly tops up on your screen it may be harmful to your phone or something bad in return for just clicking the simple link on the screen
Im glad the government are aware and slowly making their move to stop this scam
House approves SIM card registration bill on 2nd reading
The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved on second reading a measure requiring the registration of all postpaid and prepaid mobile phone subscriber identity module (SIM) cards which is aimed at preventing the proliferation of mobile phone scams, data breaches, and assisting law enforcement agencies in resolving crimes involving the use of mobile phone units.
It means every sim card we buy and acquire, needs personal details before activating, so that every sim card owner can be easily traced, scammers making advance steps will now be stumped by the more details needed by the Simcard to activate.
