The newscaster was handing a microphone to the mother of the child who died of hunger in the hospital. My blood froze when I watched this news. I remember talking about African children starving 30 years ago, but I am horrified that a single child starves to death today. Forbes magazine publishes a list of the 100 richest people in the world every year. This magazine should also talk about children dying of hunger.

We need more bread and water, not the millions of dollars sitting in our bank vaults. First of all, we need more love. If there is love, those children will not die of hunger. But we do not live to love and do good. We are bad because we are. Our egos are bigger than the biggest mountain in the world. We have a lot of shoes in this world where there are kids who don't have any shoes yet. Our wardrobe is full of clothes. We have so many clothes that we can't decide which one to wear in the morning. It's just like proof of how bad people we are. However, instead of buying an extra pair of shoes or clothes, we can meet the food needs of starving people for a few days. No love can give us the happiness of doing this.

Many people want to live a better life. After all, people live 70 or 80 years at most. It's a short time actually. Sometimes I just hate people for that reason and I understand them at the same time. It's a human weakness. This is a weakness that one must overcome by fighting with oneself. We need to educate ourselves on this. Our goal should not be to live just for ourselves. We should not live to always have more, to eat better.
