Today, I’ve learned the importance of being a responsible and intelligent digital citizen and I’ve also discovered that there are ways to help young learners to become digital citizens. I’ve learned that to become a digital citizen, critical thinking is very essential. We need to develop our critical thinking skills for us to know the do’s and don’t when we interact with others online.
Also, I understood the importance of connection, not the one we are using with our mobile phones and other gadgets, but the kind of connection that we are using to communicate with our family or the people around us. We need to connect with our community for us to be guided accordingly, especially when we’re using social media and all other digital resources. Aside from that, there are also ways to improve our being a digital citizen such as to improve our etiquette in using social media, make use of crowdsourcing, and to understand life without the use and help of the internet that maybe or probably most of the millennial’s nowadays can’t relate to.
Moreover, I’ve also learned and understand the meaning of being a digital citizen. Being a digital citizen is not only about knowing how to navigate or have the knowledge and skills in using digital technologies as a means of communication or whatnots but also through using it professionally and appropriately.
