Good day fellow writers. Still on our industrial training at college which I've been writing about since few days now. Monday happened to be (Day 1), Wednesday happened to be (Day 2) and today happened to be (Day 3) of the industrial training. The training was also tedious at college today too yet, still very interesting and a lot of lessons were learnt.
Today, we were taught how to produce "toilet wash".
Yeah, what do we understand by a toilet wash? What kind of bell does it ring into our ears?
Mere taking a proper look and understanding to the word itself "toilet wash", I don't think I need to stress myself defining it. It's clear and simple though. Despite that, I would like to do some enlightenment on it for our better comprehension.
A toilet wash is a substance made up of different types of chemical reactants which is used mainly at "toilets" for proper neutralization of germs and pathogens. It's sole place of use is the toilet, not anywhere else. Toilets vary at times such as public toilets, home toilets, workplace toilets etc.
If you all can recall on my last two articles on this industrial training program, I discussed on the production of liquid soap first, followed by air freshener then toilet wash (which I'm writing on today). You would notice they all share a similar function among themselves which is, they all "purify or cleanse" dirts, germs, unpleasant odours and infections in our environment, but what differentiates them is their mode of application and place of application. For the liquid soap, it's used for washing dishes and clothes at home, offices and shops, for the air freshener, it's also sprayed at home, offices and shops for chasing out unpleasant odours in the environment and for the toilet wash, is used "only" for washing and cleansing the toilet to prevent infections. I hope we can now spot out the similarities and differences.
So, back to today's experiment, which is toilet wash, the following apparatus were made use of;
Menthol
Caustic soda
Mixing tank (plastic bucket)
Water
Stirrer
Hcl (hydrochloric acid)
Texapon
Methanol etc....
We ensured proper dimensions and mixture of the required chemical reactants for the experiment listed above in the right proportion as instructed by our supervisors and we achieved our expected goal which is the toilet wash.
We also took certain preventive measures like putting on required laboratory clothings such as lab coats, hand gloves, face shields, cover shoes etc. to prevent irritation of the skin by the chemicals used.
And lastly, we also discussed about how to establish a small scale business with the production of toilet wash, and the following criterias are to be considered:
Getting ready the capital (source might be from loan companies, self funding or relatives
Create a business plan and budget.
Consider necessary factors like place of production, where demands of products would be high, which means, it should be close to a market place.
Test your products before selling out to people to avoid unnecessary complaints.
And lastly, the branding or packaging is likewise important too to make it look attractive to your customers.
I think that's all we did for today (production of toilet wash). The learning continues tomorrow. I won't hesitate to write on them tomorrow too. Until then, thanks for passing by to read this.
Bye for now.
All photos are mine!!!
Is there any chemical that can be used for toilet whitening
