"May mga magulang na handang magbago at pilit nagbabago. May mga ama na gustong humingi ng tawad, at may mga anak na handang magpatawad." -Ms. Amanda

  • Boses is a Filipino Indie film that tells the story of Onyok, a victim rendered mute by child abuse who regains his voice through music with the help of Ariel, a reclusive musician.

The short film titled "Boses" is a story about a child and was maltreated by his abusive father, and was brought into a shelter after being rescued by his concerned neighbors. Onyok is a child who has only known pain, a son who never felt his father's love, and a boy who lost his chance to be heard. He found his comfort and voice in music and violin, through the man who has also hidden his own pain, Ariel. This is a story of how love saved the young boy from his past and how music gave him back his future.

This movie tackles awareness of certain social issues like child abuse, violence, bullying, child molestation and abandoning of children. "Boses" makes you feel. It makes you think. It makes you laugh and cry, and it entertains you. Upon watching this movie, you will be overwhelmed of how the story goes. Your heart will be touched.

The movie can change you and inspire you. You can't tell how you exactly feel because of too much emotions from it. This film is also a reminder that you are always given the chance to change, and if you are given that chance, change for the better. Second chances are rare to find, so when you have it, make the most out of it.

This is a very hopeful film. You can find a beam of hope in it, where if you are trapped in a situation or place where you think it is the end of your world, you will always find hope. Hope that no matter how bad the situation you are in right now, look for the silver lining in it. Hope that you will soon find a better tomorrow and a better life. It also tells us about the importance of pain. Because for us to be able to feel alive, we need to feel pain. Pain can get people together and it can heal one another, just like in the shelter.

The movie also shows us that we find love from the most unexpected people in an unexpected place. That there are also people who are willing to help us to get our broken pieces back together, and give us the courage and strength to face the people who broke us with their violence.

Most importantly, this film tackles forgiveness. Forgiveness from a son who was a victim of his own father. Forgiveness from your own self for the mistakes and wrong decisions you made in the past. And forgiveness for yourself to completely heal your broken parts.
