In this article I will be explaining some ills of bad governance in detail. What is bad governance? Bad governance is the process of making poor quality choices that affect all aspects of an organization. It's usually recursive process from where a decision is not taken and the best action is not determined leading to a cumulative impact in the organization. As a result, the quality of leadership, policies, strategies and operations slowly erode over time. Even a good decision made without proper planning can cause serious repercussions if the necessary steps are not taken to ensure sustainable results.

These decisions, which are not in line with the corporate culture, can cause frustration at both individual and corporate levels, too. The following are some of the common reasons for bad governance in an organization. The manager is not accountable to affected parties - If a manager has to oversee several teams or departments then she or he should have clear accountability rules in place so that they can be held accountable for their decisions.

As a child born in the 90s, living in a country on the continent of Africa, I am no stranger to political and societal injustice. These issues affect everyone in some way or form. And as much as we like to believe that these negative forces don't affect us or are sometimes too far away to be of any concern, the reality is that we all stand to lose something if we choose to remain apathetic.

Dictatorships and overbearing governments that refuse to give people their basic freedoms plague the lands of many people around the world. The most tragic part of this is that often times, the youth of these countries are treated as enemies of the state--the future leaders are vilified by their own government.

These young people are then forced to flee their homeland and seek asylum in other countries where they can build better lives for themselves and their families. They face struggle after struggle as they try to find a place they can call home; they routinely need to find ways not only to provide for themselves but also for those back home who may have been left behind during the struggle.
