Taking care of yourself

When we think of taking care of ourselves, perhaps we can understand this to mean some sort of recommendation to go on a diet, get some exercise, see a doctor regularly, etc. This is just a part of taking care of ourselves, we are not composed of body only. It is not important just to have a weight according to our height, or to have a minuscule percentage of fat, or perhaps to gain a little. To have a defined figure, with as many visible muscles as possible, or with a symmetrical structure between them. Or maybe you want your ribs to be a little more visible, or your waist to be easily marked. All these and every one of these "desires" we have to comply with the stereotypes of others. Taking care of oneself is also about what we carry inside, precisely in our head, that wonderful space where everything that happens and coordinates everything that happens to us, how we act, react, what we are, how we are... etc. Why is it that when we have a headache we immediately resort to taking a pill, but why is it that when we are sad we do not try to analyze what is wrong with us so we can feel better? It's okay to feel good, it's okay to feel bad, it's okay to feel sad, it's okay to feel angry. The only thing that is not okay, is to ignore what we feel. What if you ignore someone arguing with you on the street? Depending on the intensity of that person's emotions or the reason for the argument, they might nudge you to react (in a mild case). Now imagine that the person you are arguing with is your sadness, and he is just trying to get your attention so that you will attend to him, so that you will understand what he needs, what is happening to him, why it is happening to him, and in order to get your interest, he will start sending you messages. These messages can manifest themselves in symptoms (somatization), in negative thoughts, in having no energy for anything. All this, so that you can stop for a moment to listen to her and try to understand why she is like this. Generally, we have been taught that those who cry are the weak, the incapable, the cowards, but why, because they are brave enough to face and understand the sadness and the situation that makes them feel this way?I don't think that is weakness or cowardice, I think it is a great symbol of courage and capacity.

It's time to get those thoughts out of your mind, that social construct that has been structured in your head for years. Start thinking, why do children cry? Because they are weak or cowardly? Or why don't they have these useless structures in their brains? That's how we should be, to be more children, to understand that crying doesn't mean any of this, to understand that our bravery doesn't depend on the amount of dryness in my eyes.

It is time to listen less to others and listen more to ourselves. We will always have us, simple. Life is too short to live it simple and limited.

Thousands die every day, thousands are born every day. When do you plan to take care of yourself? When you become part of the death statistics? NO, your only chance is now, there is no more. Please, apply YOLO (You Only Live Once), ask yourself, what is your dream? Are you working towards it? Are you fulfilling it? What is the use of having many dollars, many awards, many recognitions if in our head there is nothing we can enjoy because we are busy enough trying to silence the negative and recurring thoughts, or because we have anger problems and there is no one around us to tolerate us, all this we must attend and understand it, now, today.

Going to a psychologist is the best plan you could have, get one that makes you feel comfortable, safe, that is a healing space and don't go full of skepticism, give it a chance!

I hope you liked it, leave me a comment to let me know.
