Perhaps the biggest argument against centralized Online Music streaming is that with them it truly hard for the upcoming guys to break out and make a name for themselves. The top guys already have the clout and coverage, and by extension a larger audience, unlike the nameless and underground guys who lack the financial power to promote themselves aggressively.
There’s then the problem of the funds for putting your Music on the online streaming platforms where a vast majority of listeners are now domiciled. When you don’t put it there, you miss out on the revenue to be generated from those avenues and you also miss out on growing your audience and fan base. For music to be all over the place like we see it, a pretty penny is paid to the distributors and third-party platforms (e.g. online streaming platforms) to put it there, and many new artists can’t pay those heavy prices.
Blockchain based streaming platforms though are coming up with ways to combat and solve these two big problems; the problem of Equality in Music distribution and the promotion of Music for the nameless guys. Every Artist on Emanate has equal chances to get listening time.
After staking 5000 EMT tokens, your music gets put out to their thousands of listeners. Irrespective of how many followers you have whether 100 or 100,000 your music will still get seen by a lot of users. As with any other thing, you can always go for the higher package which is the Emanate Distro where your Music gets distributed to much established platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, Tencent, YouTube, Yandex and the likes, and that can only mean more earnings for you.
I truly believe that pretty soon we will be saying goodbye to the days of artists paying rather heavily for their Music to be put on streaming platforms. Very soon we will say goodbye to the days of upcoming and unknown artist languishing because they can’t pay for their Music to be put out at par with the big boys. Emanate has the potential and all it takes to achieve this. They give artists equal publicity, and they take away the stress of promotion for the artists for a way too small price in my opinion. Blockchain is revolutionizing the whole world and I am not surprised that the Music industry is now experiencing this change. I 'm a believer from the start. But.. I now doubt Emanate will make it good one day. The project is late, and move so so slowly. And what is the future of EOS?
