It's Trivia Time!
Today is the first day of August and I made a list of some trivias I found online about the month of August. This trivias may sound amazing and I do hope you will like it.
First of all, why this month is called August? Well, based on what I have read on wonderopolis.com, it was named after Augustus Caesar in 8 B.C. The month is previously known as "Sextillia" or the Latin word for "sixth" in ancient Roman calendar.
For History lovers, this day was the day when Columbus lands in South America according to www.history.com.
According to Britannica.com, this day was the opening of Berlin 1936 Olympic Games.
If you always look at the calendar, you will notice that August 2020 has 5 Mondays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays! It is amazing, right?
Did you know that August has two birthstones? These birthstones are peridot and sardonyx.
According to richmond.com, Peridot is one of the oldest known gemstones. The color of it is green. On the other hand, Sardonyx is little known. It is once believed to have mystical powers. It's a white- and brown-banded gemstone.
I hope you learned something from it. Thanks for reading!
