BORN November 29, 1922 Nis
DIED August 16, 1984 Belgrade
Dušan Radović was a poet, writer, journalist, aphorist and TV editor.
Dusko Radovic was born in Nis, he was the third of four children of father Ugljesa, who was a train driver originally from Cacak, and mother Sofia from Nis. In 1928, he moved with his family to Subotica, where he finished elementary school and 6th grade of high school. He continued his education in Belgrade, studying philosophy.
He worked as the editor-in-chief of "Pionirske novine", the editor of the Children's Program of Radio Belgrade, the editor of the Children's Program of Television Belgrade, the editor of the newspaper "Poletarac", the journalist of "Borba" and (since 1975) the editor of Studio B.
He has written a large number of books, some of which have been translated into English, Russian, German and other world languages. He wrote songs, stories, humoresques, aphorisms, screenplays for feature and documentary films. However, in his work and creation, he mostly wrote for children.
Children's poets before Dušan Radović wrote songs that also contained cheerfulness, play on words, easy melodies and memorable content, but with the poet's obvious intention to teach children what is good, what should be loved and nurtured, and what should be guarded. . Radović is the first in contemporary Serbian poetry who freed the song from that ideological "pressure" on the children's world and, instead, offered frivolity, fun, pure laughter, "crazy" play on words, a twisted meaning of singing.
Some of the most famous works of Duško Radović are:
1953 - Captain John Peoplefox - radio drama;
1954 - Dear children - songs for children;
1961 Funny words - songs for children;
1963 I'm telling you a story - songs and stories for children;
1963—1965 - Na slovo, na slovo - television series;
1969 - Che, a tragedy that lasts (with M. Bećković), a poem;
1983 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - poetry and prose for children in four books;
1977-1984 Belgrade, good morning - aphorisms.
Dusko Radovic is known to the widest audience for the aphorisms with which he woke up the people of Belgrade on the airwaves of Radio "Studio B", which were later published in three books "Belgrade Good Morning". In his aphorisms, he most often referred to topics such as: scarcity, lack of money, relations between generations, children and their problems, life in Belgrade and the like. He was often able to criticize the then authorities and in a witty way draw attention to current problems in society. Due to all that, for political reasons, in 1983, the show Belgrade Good Morning was canceled.
Duško Radović's songs and stories for children have received many recognitions and awards, such as Neven and Mlado pokoljenje, the Dragon Children's Dance Awards, the Sterija Pozorje Awards and others. The athletics race "Remembering Dusko Radovic" has been held in Belgrade for many years, he was a big football fan and a fan of FC Partizan, Dusko's brother is the famous athletics coach Branimir "Brana" Radovic.
Dusko Radovic passed away at the age of 62 in Belgrade, just a year after his show at Studio B was canceled.
1.He was once a creature
Once upon a time there was a creature…
squat on squats,
sat on the seat,
looked at the look,
waited for the check,
dug on a spear,
pecked at the key,
cried on the plaque,
played the flute,
jumped on the jump,
sang to sing,
dozed off
slept on sleep.
2.Bumblebee
The bumblebee, children, was angry at the rain,
to bees that suck dew,
on a wide road,
on sunflower yellow.
The bumblebee, children, was angry
but it didn't rain either,
nor the bees that suck the dew,
not a wide road,
nor sunflower yellow.
The bumblebee is completely unfair
attacked a small child one.
Hunters from Izbište said
that they would kill him like nothing.
3.King John
Big thing, significant thing
Job, children, has become king!
He had a mustache up to his ears
and a chin to the waist;
he had a thousand white horses
and a thousand fast dogs.
He had countless more castles in gold
and even more spacious estates;
he had, children, a million soldiers
and a hundred gold decorations.
He had a thousand servants
and seventy confectioners only ...
They all undressed
and clothing,
kept and fed
His Majesty the Emperor.
And he ruled like that
who knows how many centuries and years,
he ate cake and ice cream
and drank lemonade and raspberries.
And one day, when Nj. V. Car,
of chocolate and lemonade
he could neither go nor lie down,
he woke up hungry and sleepy
in his bed by the stove.
4.Man I Po
Stojadin - Stole was born yesterday,
seventeen feet and two inches,
his head up, his feet down!
Stole, my falcon - that's a lot
seventeen feet and two inches!
He fed Stojadin - Stola,
they put him on top of the table,
they roasted his ox and another half!
Stole, my falcon - that's a lot -
whole ox and another ox half!
5.Miracles
Look, the fish is swimming!
Who would have hoped for that from a fish?
Look at the acacia flowers!
Who would expect that from acacia ?!
Look, the bird is flying!
Until a while ago she was squatting on the roof ?!
Look, look,
all miracles alone!
A cherry blossomed on a cherry tree!
Black mulberry is dripping from the mulberry!
6.Yes or No
Can he?
Yes.
He thinks he can't and he can.
Are we?
We are.
He thinks we are not and we are.
Does he like it?
He loves.
He thinks he doesn't like it but he loves it.
Will he?
He will.
He thinks he won't and he will.
7.Does Potato Bloom?
Strange question:
Do potatoes bloom?
I wouldn't be surprised if it blooms!
What doesn't bloom in the summer garden?
From sun to sunflower
everything is blooming,
so it would be a shame
yes potatoes don't bloom!
8.Do You Believe Me
One boy was washing himself
every day non-stop,
so his ears grew, grew,
so his skin became thin.
- Do you believe me?
Mother kept shouting "enough"
but he wanted, he wanted…
He washed himself every day
so he suddenly fell ill.
- Do you believe me?
A strict doctor came
so he says:
- So my vest,
the water is to blame,
- I forbid him to wash.
- Do you believe me?
9.Children Love
Kids love weird things
such as chimney sweeps,
such as brakes,
such as, such as ...

such as sutlijaši,
such as grills,
such as, such as ...
Kids love funny things
such as parachutes,
such as summarized,
such as, such as ...
10.Tree Sleeps
At the border of the world the tree sleeps,
ran after the sun over the grass.
Where the sun stopped and fell
- that's where the tree stopped and fell asleep.
Fall asleep black, fall asleep ...
A trace of the sun still wanders on his canopy.
The apple caught him yellow.
Asleep flower, and tree and grass
- the little sun sleeps on the apple.
Fall asleep yellow, fall asleep ...
11.Frushka Gora
Fruška Gora, low and long,
by the Danube he sleeps like a cat.
Frushka Gora, like bread from the oven
of all the others both prettier and bigger.
Fruška Gora, when the bed is straight,
half of Srem sleeps on it at night.
12.Where's The Hair
Like a bee in constant flight
looking for something in a colorful flower,
I walked around the distant world
and looked for hair in the egg!
By the sea, where the olive is dozing
I find an egg, but no hair!
Where's the hair?
He ate cancer!
Give me a hand!
He was eaten by a magpie!
Where is the magpie?
He ate the darkness!
Where is the darkness?
He's crammed into a sack!
I was still both strong and healthy!
Yellow, stout, fantastically strong!
I announced to them that I would be like a lion
swallow both the magpie and the jack!
The old jack is scared,
gray darkness dissipates,
the magpie flew away,
cancer has spread,
that hair appeared
- thin, light,
hair like hair!
And now everything is fine again:
again the hair adorns that egg…
Let's make the moon pale,
on the windows of the day that goes out.
13.Autumn
When the leaves start to fall,
it usually gets dark,
with darkness and rain falling
- picture of poor autumn.
And finally,
there is always someone else slipping
and fall!
14.Autumn Song
Everything went wrong
for sparrows and cats,
when autumn hung
your yellow badges,
when the wind sang
November points…
Attention! Attention!
Great autumn sale!
We sell umbrellas
- we buy umbrellas!
We sell old leaves
- we buy snowflakes!
We sell scooters
- we buy sledges!
We buy hats
- we sell bows!
We'll sell socks
- We'll buy gloves.
We will sell seeders
- We'll buy heaters.
We'll sell ice cream
- We'll have tea.
Because everything went headlong
for birds and flowers,
when the sun gave up
to land on our roof.
It's like yellow, angry,
as if they don't want us!
15.When It Was Dark
When it was dark,
when it was dark,
rushed the mouse cat
even, even, even.
The cat ran after the mouse
even, even, even,
and if she swallowed it,
she didn't know that either
- because it was dark,
because it was dark…
16.When Seven Merry Boys
When seven happy boys

When seven white millers
enters at seven confectioners
- came out seven mustachioed corporals.
When seven chased corporals
seven ceilings protumara

17.How to Spend Elephants
Once they wanted to repeat us,
- they divided the elephants into vouchers!
One voucher - one elephant!

And already according to that!
We spent what we had vouchers,
because of those black and eared elephants!
One voucher - one elephant!

Small things and small names are looking for,
like a mouse, like a grain, like a crumb,
while the great thing has a great name,
as a soliter, as a meridian,
as Sremska Mitrovica.
19.Who is the Son of the Sea
I am the son of the sea! said the cancer.
short and elbow-shaped.
The wave hit him at that moment:
You are the son of cancer, lower your voice!
I am the son of the sea, said the whale,
big and strong as steel.
The wave hit him at that moment:
you are the son of a whale, lower your voice!
I am the son of the sea, said the snail,
thin and empty as a canak.
The wave hit him at that moment:
you are the son of a snail, lower your voice!
I am the son of the sea, I said,
dark and as accurate as the sun.
The wave hit me at that moment:
welcome among us!
You are the son of the sea, raise your voice!
20.Horse And Dream
Someone dreams of having a horse
and someone has a horse.
Someone dreams of riding a horse
and someone is riding a horse.
Someone dreams that he fell off a horse
and someone fell off his horse.
Someone woke up when he fell
and someone got up and rode up again.
21.Kozin Case
When one goat graduated,
somewhere in the world, at goat college,
she asked her aunt
to buy her a trumpet:
- I would play, ah, I would play like that!
Well, if it's a trumpet thing -
I'll buy a trumpet!
When you have an aunt, have a trumpet,
one is an aunt, and countless trumpets!
When you learned to subtract and add,
you will learn and play.
And so is the goat - between the two trains,
between two evils, between two fires -
played, and played, and played ...
And she married a sailor
from the island of Sna, Java or Sumatra!
