Entrepreneurship vs. Employment

Entrepreneurship is definitely good? Employment is definitely stable? What are your thoughts?

My simple thought on this is... not everyone can be entrepreneur and not everyone will stay being employed forever. Both entrepreneurship and employment have their pros and cons and somehow in my opinion, both co-exist together so you can't say which is better than the other.

Being an employee...

... is not entirely stable too. I guess this pandemic had proven this for sure that employees are at the risk of losing job if their employers decided to cut cost due to a a lost. Yeah, it is stable in terms of getting a stable income, a stable increment though it might not be a big increment, a stable job scope (maybe?) and asides from these... I think that's it. There's always a two side of a coin, some see this as a benefit to them but some see this as a restriction. Irregardless, I think we should utilize the situation that we are in.

For example, being an employee, I can leverage on the stable income that I have yet venture into something else that I will love to do asides from the full time job I'm employed to do. By doing this, we actually learn more stuffs, increasing our own value. Of course not all will think that way until one feels that "argh, I can't just stay like this forever!", if you know what I'm saying. This is also where someone just wanna do more than being an employee and jump into entrepreneurship...

Being an entrepreneur...

... IS NOT ABOUT JUST EARNING BIG MONEY! I think many people have this idea that entrepreneurs earn a lot... that's why they also wanna be entrepreneurs. But we also came across many many entrepreneurs that fail and why is it so? Because if the reason of jumping into entrepreneurship is to earn the moolah, then likely you won't sustain long. Entrepreneurs are actually people that come out with solution to existing world's problems and hold this as their mission in life to help more people to come out of their problems without putting money first. Of course I'm not saying that entrepreneurs don't want to earn money because they ain't doing charity also but the solution they provide will eventually earn them the money that they want. Being an entrepreneur is good if you are on the path of solving the people's problem and not just about thinking of profiting from the people.

By the way, which entrepreneur that you respect the most?

It is okay...

to be either an entrepreneur or an employee so long you are satisfied with whichever choice you make. Don't look down on yourself if people say something like "Go and be an entrepreneur and don't stay being and employee forever" to you. You can also be a very successful employee... you know? If you know you are someone that can do more than that, then why not being an entrepreneur? You really never know you can do much more than what you are doing right now.

Do share me your thoughts in the comment section below! I will love to know your thoughts on this.

I also think that there is no sense in debating which is better, plus one can always swap mid-way. Nonetheless, entrepreneurship is definitely not for everyone, as it needs a lot of discipline, guts and luck, not forgetting capital. The secret ingredient is probably mentorship.

yes mentorship! that will be another topic... :P yea the debate of which is better will be forever so i think both must exist in an eco system. most people wanna be entrepreneur and like what you said, it is easier to be said than done.

Unfortunately, many people don't see the failed businesses, only the successes. And even if they do learn about the success stories, no one ever knows the sacrifices made.
