The UEFA champions league which happens to be one of the most viewed league kick-started its campaign last year seeing a lot of top flights clubs from different divisions across the world step up to the challenges to win a trophy.
The top four team in the premier league,la Liga, bundesliga, Serie A , league 1, and the likes. Thirty-two teams make their way into the competition and are divided into eight groups. A team in each group is to face all other three others in that group and then only the top two from each side makes it into the knockouts stages.
A top of six matches is played by each teams, home and away meeting are included. The top four best losers in all the group make their way into the UEFA Europa league.
The knockout stages is two-legged as both team are weary of automatic disqualification if they are on the receiving end. The away advantages has now been scrapped from football and there are not advantages of away goal any longer. The better or probably the more experienced team makes their way into the quarter finals.
At this stage, it is a thug of war as only the very best makes it into this stage of the competition. Lot of upsets are witnessed,the best teams crashing out by the tiniest of margins,an underdog squeezing its way through the crowd. The tension and intensity builds all the way to the finals.
One might consider that it is one of the most surprisingly frustrating games to predict as lots of upset surface. The intensity is highest in the finals as both teams who have worked their way to this stage of the competition will not be looking forward to lose.
The world stands still, praying and hoping that their preferred triumphs. The stakes are high, Bets are placed, predictions are made. One might argue that this is the viewed events in the world.
