Nuga games
2022 NUGA games is one that that been much anticipated by thousands of people. Different universities across different states coming together to compete. Long aged rivalries continues,underdogs taking the stage,the high and mighty fallen to a less recognized university. There were always meant to be unset in competitions as big as this.
The competition say as over 40 universities gather at the University of Lagos,who happens to be the host of this 2022 NUGA games for over 20+ different sport. Some of which includes Football, basketball w,handball,100metre race,400 metres race,800 metre race,long tennis and lots more.
This game was preceded by the PRE-NUGA games which was played as a qualifier into the NUGA games.
The games started with the opening ceremony as all school went on a parade to showcase and fly the banners of their universities. Some dressed in track suits and some other in native attire(Ankara)
The events continues as guest artiste we invited to perform live at the games. Traditional dances were presented and lots more.
The most anticipated game happened to be the football match as only sixteen university made it to the competition. This included the likes of the host university, the University of Lagos, the University of Ibadan,the University of Ilorin,the University of Benin, Obafemi Awolowo University among others
The competition saw the teams divided into four groups as the top two teams were to make it to the quarter finals and the bottom two teams be on their way home.
The group one draw saw Nassarawa state university, Alex Ekwueme federal university,Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University and Yusuf Maitama Sule University tie up
The group two saw the host, university of Lagos battle Olabisi Onabanjo University,Kwara state university, and Adamawa state university.
The group three tie was a tight one as university of Ilorin,were to to meet the University of Benin along side the University of Calabar,and sokoto state university
The group four saw two fierce of rivals battle once again. Quite close proximity from each other.The university of Ibadan and Obafemi Awolowo battles along side federal university Dustin-ma and Ignatius Ajuru university of Education.
The competition was off to a roaring start as fans across the country made their way to the University of Lagos to sprue their players to victory.
The teams are all set. All universities have arrived with the hope going back with the gold. Who will be champion?? Who with go flying their banners the highest ?? We await the end of the competition.

Setback
Your lowest moment is mostly your moment of realization. That point where you are almost totally fed up of the situation and circumstances surrounding. Where every passing moment seems like a nightmare
The moment all of your efforts seems to be futile,where the world seems to be against you. You are fighting the battle alone and it seems like you’re loosing the fight. The odds are against you and every choice you make seems like the wrong one. Every decision you make feels wrong. You’re fighting this battle alone and at your lowest moments,the ones you hold so dearly aren’t there for you.
You are caught in a time loop,not knowing what step to take,what move to make,what way to go. Help doesn’t seem forthcoming. Your closest friends become the most distant once. Family isn’t helping in anyway and it’s you against the world.
You tend to find opportunities but they slip right through your fingers. Your whole problem comes rushing through the door. You let yourself and the people a round you down. You can't phantom a way out of it. You wallow in pain,wondering for how long it would last,how long you can keep up with the lack,neglect, loneliness and all.
Then you come to realize that you are alone in this race. It's one of those time you understand that every man run his race. You are not in a competition with anyone but yourself. You’ve got to figure out a way out of your struggle yourself. The sky is wide enough for all birds to fly.
You either work it out or continue with your struggle. Crazy part about it is that you get to know your true friends. You figure out a lot of people laughing and smiling with you with laugh at you when your set down comes. They will turn their back on your plea,turn deaf ears to your struggles.
Nonetheless,there is light at the end of every tunnel. There is joy at the end of every struggle. There is peace at the end of every war because understanding that there will always be setbacks gives you the understanding that there will likewise be breakthroughs. You just have to push through the difficult times. Manoeuvre your way out of that struggle,push through that obstacle, breakthrough that barrier.
You figure out at the end of this setback,a lot of lessons has been learnt. You've learnt to appreciate yourself. You've realize how complex life could be. How letting yourself comfortable in your distress can affect your entire life, how the world could turn it's back against you totally the moment you succumb to your setback.
We live to learn,and we learn so we don't make costly mistakes. Learn to contain your setback. Gain control of the situation no matter the circumstance.
Life is short
Everything in life works with time and season. Name it, business,school, family,career,love, and even life.
Quite terrifying knowing that life doesn't last forever. You get a chance at a making a difference and before you know it, it's all gone.
Knowing that you don't get to lobe the people you care so deeply about forever. You don't get to live the dream forever. You don't get to keep that family forever. There is a loophole which comes with life which is death.
Quite annoying when you see a lot of people make a big deal about how long they've lived on earth. Ranting and boast of their experience. Arrogant to the fact that experience isn't fulfillment. Oblivious of the fact that alot of experienced mind have gone six feet under the ground. You've lived so long doesn't mean you've lived so well. You are probably more logically expected to die first.
Always remember how much I craved to be an adult growing up. I hated being bossed around by my parents and my sister. Thought it was a leverage to get free from all of those.
I could finally make decisions for myself and not get shouted at. I could go where I wanted when I wanted. I saw it as a liberation from the bondage I felt I was kept in. Little did I know that alot more was attached to growing up. Alot of responsibility,decisions,work to be done. I could only see the little good part of it.
A see alot of young lads wasting precious time,not aware of how short life could be. Whirling away time,moving with the tides,unable to exercise self control.
I wish I could re-live the years I wasted,the bad decisions I made,the shame I brought upon myself,the disgrace. I just hoped I could go back and correct all of those mistakes. I wish I could relive the former years,make friends,be happy,be closed to family,read my books and always say a prayer.
Figured out it was a hell-lope. If you aren't ready for it,you just go after anything that looks enticing. Decisions are being made not based on what is right but what you convince yourself is.You could make a decision that would ruin your entire life or you could set a solid foundation to a wonderful life.
Understanding that with every passing time,you grow older. One step forward toward your grave. It screams the need to make the most of your time here on earth.
Live a life you would be remembered for. One that holds a significant meaning,that passes across the right message to young minds out there to follow in the same footsteps.
Gaining hold of your emotions
Gaining hold of your emotional is something a lot of people tend to struggle with. A lot of people allow their emotion determine their decision making which is not always the best choice. Your present state or situation of things shouldn't be a criteria for making rational decision that could have drastic effects on your life.
Your ability to control the situation around you. Emotions run wild once given the chance to take control of situations.
Once heard a story of a young man who had only recentle just lost his job, he was married with two kids. Struggled to keep up with the needs of his family. His rent was almost due and it felt like hell was let loose.
He tried as much as possible to seek out other job opportunities but nothing seemed forthcoming. He turned to his friends for help but to his surprise,they only took pity but all claimed to be going through difficult times. His family was living from hand to mouth. He kept on borrowing one thing or the other with the promise to pay back.
He took out a loan to feed his family and pay other long overdue money he had borrowed. Nothing was looking good at the point. The hope for a better tomorrow was quite blurry. He was devastated,frustrated,lost in thoughts,almost out of options.
He stood up one day,fed of of all the shame,disgrace and disappointment he had suffered from family and friends and jumped off a cliffed into a river where he drowned and died.
A young lady,a victim of rape who has been through a lot of trauma trying to find redemption for herself. Fighting for the cause so all of young girls out there won't suffer the same way she did. The perpetrator being allowed to roam the streets.
No sanction,no jail term,no trial,all for the sake of being the son of a well known figure. She writes down a statement at the station but it doesn't go beyond that table.
Treacherous acts are covered off,the weak are left to suffer, wallow in their pain with little or no pity. She get up one day determined to get revenge and stalks this young man who has put her in so much anxiety and puts a knife through his chest.
Though knowing she will go to jail or probably be hanged for it. Her life had lost it essence ever since the incidence. Not denying the fact that she killed him,she stays there by the body and a part of her feels a sigh of relief,a bit of that burden has been lifted
Always learn to think with your head not your heart. Never make your predicament inflence your decision making. Contain your emotion,gain control of it. Do things because it is the right thing to do not because it is what your situation permits. There is always a calm after the storm. So make sure that you are able to withstand your storm till it calms.
Essence
Life breeds hope. Every breathe you take is a sign that nothing is impossible. You figure out that people long for so much because they are alive. They want to build the biggest houses,wear the best clothes,travel across the world,love a life of comfort. All of this is because there is life in them.
You can't see a man whose leg was amputated in an accident go into a mall to get a shoe, a woman who's deaf trying to get the latest ear pods,a young boy or girl involved in a severe fire accident want to wear fashioned clothes. If you ask a man to list the things that he wants,trust me,it would take almost forever because he has the tendency of want everything whether he truly have need for them or not.
A secondary school student can tell you he wants a car. Presently he might not need it,it does take away the fact that he wants it. I might want to have a private jet,even though I can't ride it and most probably don't have anywhere to fly it to,I still want it. The list goes on and on and on.
As much as we want so very much,let's track it all back to the start,the presence of life. We all want something. It might vary depending on the situation or circumstances surrounding us.
There is an essence for life. A reason behind your being alive. Being able to fulfill that essence is what makes life have meaning. Whatever you want to becomes,as long as there is breathe through your nostrils,it is very much possible.
The chances might look slim,the probability might seem quite impossible but trust the process. Every single day we wake is another chance to make the most of the our life. A chance to live the dream.
At every point in time, appreciate life. A lot of potential have died with people. Aloy of unfulfilled dreams. Future architects,doctors, engineers, governors have all been buried six feets under the ground. A lot if people with great potentials are no more. Young men and women have died with little or nothing to show for it.
Live everyday like it's your last to make the most of every time you've got. Life is a blessing,cherish it. How long you live gives you a chance to achieve alot more but you emsee alot of people out they who have lived over seventy yrmears and have nothing to show for it. A man at thirty-five has already achieve alot.
Length of days doesn't necessarily mean length of success or fulfillment. Take your chances,make the most of your opportunities and make your life have meaning.
Real Madrid -Paris st German
The draw in the knockout stages saw this two top teams in their division clash head to head since their last meeting back in November of 2019. Both team were looking forward to moving into the quarter finals of the competition,a step further towards the title race.
The first meeting of the two teams took place at the Le Parc Des Princes as the home side were off to a flying start. Real Madrid were totally out played having only two shots in the whole match. Kylain Mbappe was all over the pitch making sprint along the flanks leaving carvajal with much work to do. The match ended one goal to nil as their pressure paid of and were rewarded with a stoppage time goal from Mbappe as he whooshed passed three Madrid played to get his shot away.
The second leg of the competition brought about a lot of speculation as Madrid were not favourite to win the match due to their poor performance in the first leg of the competition.
The match started off as Real Madrid increased the tempo in the first few minutes of the games trying to get an early equalizer. Paris st German got their head into the game, making one or two touches on the ball.
The game was sparked to life as Mbappe netted in the 35th minutes of the game which later disallowed due to offside. The breakthrough strike came in the 39th minute of the game as courtois couldn't keep out the strike from Mbappe.
Paris st German were in domination with a two goal lead as they were looking to kill the game off. The stadium erupted as a back pass to donnarumma who held the ball for too long was pressured by Benzema. The misplaced pass fell kindly to Vinicius as he quickly released the ball back to Benzema who put the ball at the back of the net.
The momentum had shifted as the crowd were roaring their team up to press for an equalizer. Real Madrid were all out and the pressure paid off in the seventy-sixth minutes,a second goal from Karim Benzema.
Back on levelled terms, Real Madrid were looking to steal the win and they did just that one hundred and six seconds later as Marquinhos played a misplaced pass which that was met by Benzema who hit it first time as to give Real Madrid a two goal. An hat-trick for the captain.
The Santiago Bernabeu erupted in cheers,the stadium was in total chaos. The comeback was complete. They were relentless trying to get a fourth. The match ended three goals to one. Paris st German were out and Real Madrid were through to the quarter finals.
The UEFA champions league
The UEFA champions league which happens to be one of the most viewed league kick-started its campaign last year seeing a lot of top flights clubs from different divisions across the world step up to the challenges to win a trophy.
The top four team in the premier league,la Liga, bundesliga, Serie A , league 1, and the likes. Thirty-two teams make their way into the competition and are divided into eight groups. A team in each group is to face all other three others in that group and then only the top two from each side makes it into the knockouts stages.
A top of six matches is played by each teams, home and away meeting are included. The top four best losers in all the group make their way into the UEFA Europa league.
The knockout stages is two-legged as both team are weary of automatic disqualification if they are on the receiving end. The away advantages has now been scrapped from football and there are not advantages of away goal any longer. The better or probably the more experienced team makes their way into the quarter finals.
At this stage, it is a thug of war as only the very best makes it into this stage of the competition. Lot of upsets are witnessed,the best teams crashing out by the tiniest of margins,an underdog squeezing its way through the crowd. The tension and intensity builds all the way to the finals.
One might consider that it is one of the most surprisingly frustrating games to predict as lots of upset surface. The intensity is highest in the finals as both teams who have worked their way to this stage of the competition will not be looking forward to lose.
The world stands still, praying and hoping that their preferred triumphs. The stakes are high, Bets are placed, predictions are made. One might argue that this is the viewed events in the world.
The final matches over a few years have been decided by a goal or two as one team is more cynical with their finish. The champions are crowned the best team in the world
Appreciate life
I figured out I was going to have to do this sooner or later. There happens to be a lot going on around us and we choose to restrict ourself to just the events occuring in our lives. The certainty of death is what makes life beautiful and worthwhile. The fact that all men must die and will die gives us a mentally that we only got a few years to spend on these earth.
Everyone is given a equal chance at life to make a difference,to live the dream,your background not withstanding. The presence of life breathes hope. A reassuring believe that anything and everything is possible. Count every passing moment as a blessing,every breathe,food,sleep,tears,laughter. There aren't no protocol in life,you create your own protocol,the means by which you live your life and it speaks in the outcome.
A lot going through my mind,arrays of wild thoughts. I figured out that only those who think,truly value life,the beauty,the expectation,the experience that accompanies living.
I can relate life to football. Everyone plays but not everyone is remembered. Only those who are willing and zealous enough to build a career for themselves are their praises being passed down the memory lane,we bask in their glory even long after they are gone.
I could also liken it to a set,all men are given equal chances to have a go at life and produce a result. You come and go,a new set is brought in to replace you but what is it you did that you'll be remembered for in people's thought.
When your name comes to mind,what is the first this that rings in their head. You see people die at every numeric age possible but you fail to question if that life made sense. Your life isn't meaningful because you've lived a hundred years but the fact that you will live a hundred years in the memory of this generation and the one to come.
Can't seem to get over a junior of mine who was confirmed dead just a few hours ago,a young man not up to his twenties. He was presume to have been used for rituals and sorts. Life is a privilege. Every breathe presents an opportunity,a chance at a better life,a clearer future.
I would ask you one question right now. If death were to come knocking,what will you be remembered for?? What are the thought and experiences that will live on in the memory of others. In acknowledging the presence of death,we appreciate life.
It's time for a change
Manchester united's poor performance
This is a really baffling issue to which it can't be pinpointed the exact problem of this Manchester united side. It happens to be quite appalling seeing a team who are meant to be title contenders struggling to make it into the fourth spot on the premier league table. I write this sadly as a united fan who is a little fed up of the turn out of events and the current form of the club
The united side started the season under ole Gunnar who had a great spell in his first few matches. Time went on and the team were loosing a number of significant points. It took a while until he was sacked and replaced by Carrick who acted as the interim manager for about two or three matches.
The news of Manchester united signing a new coach raised a sign of hope amongst the Manchester united supporters who thought anew era was about to begin under a new coach who happened to have helped some top flight coaches build their career,the likes of Thomas Tuchel and Jordan Klopp.
Ralf Ragnick who is known as the father of gengen pressing,a type of play in which a team intensely pressed a team when not in possession to gain the ball quickly. This type of football seems to have been quite effect in the teams he had coached in time past,clubs like RB Leipzig,RB Salzburg, FC shalke. A manager who happens to have won eight trophies with three clubs.
He, beyond reasonable doubt is an experienced manager but hasn't been able to get a foothold of this united side. It might probably be that his tactics does fit the team but a team should be able to conform to the playing style of a coach to get the results needed.
Manchester united have only managed two wins against the big six this season which happens to be one of their worst performances in years.
A lot of talking as been going on as regards the problem with this united side. Some say it's Cristiano Ronaldo,some might say Harry Maguire,some others might say Fred but truth be told. This united side needs total restructuring. Every player is contributing to the blurry season the Manchester united side is facing.
The forward play has been really sloppy with their finish,The midfield is easily penetrable,the defense is not something I would love to analyze right now. The club is failing because the players are collectively failing to play their part on the pitch
I will be probably talk about these players individually later on and point out their weakness on the field of play

Just one wish
This might not sound too credible but imagine being in a situation where you have a chance to demand the one thing you truly desire. A go at becoming something or someone you truly desire. One shot at a life long sustaining effect based on one quick decision.
Growing up, we discovered that human wants are unlimited and the resources to fit these needs are limited. We will discover that the choice could be a lot harder than we anticipated. We all want to be successful,go to the best schools,have a good result,have a family,build a house,a career,live stress-free and all of that but what is the one thing that connects all those dots. A circle in which you can fit in all of these numerous needs and wants.
Thinking about this, you will actually realise that a lot of people do not really know what they really want. Quite a number of people will totally make a mess of such opportunities, making rational choices based on their current situation,the challenges facing them,their problems at work, their financial status and all sorts of things. All of these materials things holds a psychological effect on us.
Personally if I had to make a wish come true,I would choose to be happy. Some might consider that a cynical choice or think I am capping but I have had a serious thought about it.
You can't be poor and be happy. You can't be a failure and be happy. Your family can't be a mess and you'll be happy. You can't be jobless and be happy. You figure out that all of this desires, wants,wishes,all revolves around being happy.
You find happiness in fulfillment,in your comfort zone,when things are all smooth and rosy.
Considering the fact that you now know one thing you truly desire,how about turning that wish into a reality.
You want happiness??what do you need to do to be happy or what is it that makes you happy??
You want Money?? What is it you need to do to get that?? What investment or what move are you making??
You want to build a company?? What decision are you making current in line with the desire??
As the saying goes,every big thing started with a big thought.
Your focus is mainly on one thing right now. You go out there working on this one thing you truly desire because you know that every other things comes along with it.
