You must have the ‘balls’ to Play the ball.

I get so irritated when people make me keep repeating one thing over time. This makes me so sick and it makes me shut people out easily. I believe we all can understand things even though not at the same pace but how do you not understand even when it has been said over and over again? I can understand that you may need something to comprehend but I cannot understand why you will fail to comprehend after taking so much time. Well, I am not here to talk about this today I believe it will be a discussion for another day but before then, I would like to urge you not to always give people reasons to question your “IQ” level. Don’t bother asking me why I sounded this way today because I would not share it today. Please, sorry for my digression let’s go into the business of the day.

How intentional are you?

I walked into a meeting of friends some days ago and as we were engulfed in a serious discussion, one of us threw the above question to everyone. At first, I thought the question was not needed because we were discussing something very different from the question he asked. We were talking about the wedding we attended and how the groom’s friends were spraying money in the air as if they plucked it from a tree before coming to the wedding. Now, when he asked this question, I began to think outside of the box. As I was thinking just to understand why he asked such a question, one of us asked him why he posed such a question when we were discussing something else. They just laughed and said; “The groom's friends did not wake up that wedding and decided to come and spray money in such a manner. They have taken time to prepare for that wedding and how they want it to be.” One of us asked him how he got to know about what he said. He told us that one of the guys is a member of their church and that he told him how his friends decided that they will each spray $200 on the wedding day of any one of them.

He said that what we saw was the fourth time they are doing that since they started it in November last year. I was moved to ask him how the guys earn their living. He told me that they update each other on any good opportunity and they make sure every one of them gets involved with all he has. Now, our friend who has been talking looked at every single one of us and said; “How intentional are we in helping each other”. It was at this point that the question hit me very hard and straight. This is why I decided that I was going to bring it over here because I believe that we should not just earn rather we should be able to learn as well. I will look at the question from the point of individual performance. How intentional are you about the things you do?

Most times we have so many wonderful ideas running through our head and most times we try to bring these ideas to bear but one thing makes it hard for us to achieve success. You can have a wonderful idea but the moment you do not get intentional about it you will end up not achieving success. I have seen cases where someone decides to start a morning workout, but when morning came she ended up not waking up on time because he needed to finish early before going to work. Being intentional goes far beyond what we can imagine. Most times when I witness failure in the plans I have made, I don’t just take it for granted. I look at it critically and most times I found out that at some point in that project I became less intentional. Since you decided to join this platform because you felt you could write and the earning could help you sort out some bills at home, how intentional have you been about writing and interacting? It is one thing to decide what you want to do but it is another thing to maintain a strong resolve not to lose focus even in the face of difficulties.

When you write for some days and you do not get any tips, do you give up or lose interest? Most times we forget that it takes consistency to achieve success. Some people will leave or begin to complain the moment they are not able to get tipped without knowing that they have to increase their work input in other to get successful output. Check out the life of Olympic weight lifters you will notice that before they come for a competition they must have tried lifting a good number of weight categories in other to prepare their body and muscles for what is to come. They do this because they have understood that consistency is what it takes for one to be a winner. You cannot do anything in life without being intentional to avoid always meeting failure on the way. How intentional are you about what you do every day? I will leave you with that question hoping that you would take a minute of your time to get an answer to it.
