The Nothingness of Man.
The relevance of a pinch of salt is in its saltiness but when it loses it, it becomes nothing... Davinchysax.
I began my journey in this world as a baby just like every one of us did. Our path is quite unknown to us but we keep forging ahead with the hope that our tomorrow will be the best of our yesterday. What we fail to understand is that nothing is assured in life, therefore we should live our life not as our own but as a gift given to us freely by our maker. Each time I look at myself and the things I have done in life, I wonder if I am on the right track or will I end up hitting a brick wall. I am very much aware that a lot of us go through this same period of thoughtful thinking especially when the going gets tough. In all of it, we are always aware of what is not seen but believed to come.
What is Man?
Each time I attend a funeral service of a loved one, I am always left perplexed when I see the body lying so lifeless and empty. It is not because I do not know that one day we will die and leave this world, it is because we will leave this world empty-handed with nothing other than the people we have touched with our lives. This is what gives me great concern when I see man's inhumanity to man everywhere around the world. Most times we forget that the life we live is not ours. When I see people talk about how they will do this or that, I am always baffled because we are not even promised tomorrow and yet, we make all these mind-blowing plans.
I heard a story of a very beautiful lady who lived a classy lifestyle. The story was told that the lady was such a neat lady that if you are anything less when it comes to being tidy, you cannot come 20 meters close to her. She hired the best of servants ranging from drivers, housemaids, cooks, stylists and what have you. All of these servants were known to be tidy in their services because once she notices a little dirt on any servant, that servant is immediately fired and not just fired, the servant will be severely punished. This classy lady enjoyed the most exquisite cuisines in the world from the most expensive restaurants all around the world.
She was known by all and sundry for her high taste and classy lifestyle. One day, the unexpected happened. The lady fell sick and within the shortest period, she was pronounced dead by her doctor. Her family deposited her corpse in the mortuary and began every preparation for her burial. On the day of her burial, her brother who was a priest went to the mortuary to make sure that her sister's body was well dressed for her final journey to the great beyond. Her brother saw her lifeless body dressed but to him, the dressing was not perfect. He immediately requested to see the person who dressed her sister's body. An old-looking dirty man was brought to him and he looked at the d man from head to toe in bewilderment.
He remembered that her sister would have beheaded this man if she had seen him while alive. It was at this moment her brother realised that the life we live is filled with nothingness. How on earth would his sister receive her final bathing and dressing in this world from such a dirty looking man? He could not find the voice to say anything to the man because he understood that the life we live is not ours.
Who will dress your body for the final preparation before burial?
This was the very question that came to my mind when I heard the story. No matter how connected or wealthy you may be, you may never meet the person who will dress your body for the final journey to the great beyond. What this means is that you must try very hard to live a life that will positively touch anyone and everyone that comes in contact with you. Since a stranger will be the one to take care of your dressing on your death, why not affect everybody you meet positively now that you are alive. Remember, we are not promised tomorrow irrespective of how many times we go for medical checkups in other not to go down through one sickness or the other. The life we live is not ours, therefore, we must make it a point of duty to spread love anywhere we find ourselves.
I live you with this thought-provoking question; who will prepare your corpse for your last journey to the great beyond?
I come in Peace. Happy Easter to you all 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳.
This shows that as we were alive,we should treat people well and fair, for at the end of the day,we are nothing but a lifeless body who is dressed by anyone at the funeral, and that day,we can't be proud of ourself . What matter is how we live each day that can pleased God .
