How we can be of help... Trust me, it will work.
In recent times there have been issues of plagiarism which has been flagged either by the system or by individuals on this platform. This reminds me of those days I was still writing on the defunct platform ~~uptrennd~~ and the times we fought against spammers and plagiarists. It was a war we took to their doorsteps as students of the then ~~uptrennd University~~ who were saddled with the duty of looking out for the platform. This does not mean that there were no students who wanted to cut corners by engaging either in up-vote for up-vote schemes, plagiarism or even spamming other users work. This war continued for a very long time or should I say that we fought the battle till the last days of the survival of the platform. `Visit my sponsors and you will not regret you did.` There were a lot of us who joined the university without any prior inowledge of what blogging was. The difference was that we were willing to push our imaginations to bring out our inert abilities as regards writing. Of course, we were tutored by the best of the best when it comes to blogging and even vlog making ***(visual blogging)***. In all our training, one thing was evident and that is what I find lacking in this platform. You may choose not to agree with me about what I am about to say but the truth is that we are lacking in the area of ****constructive criticism.****

Just as I was dotting the final I’s and crossing the T’s this morning, I stumbled upon a post by @Fexonice1 with the title **“Write with life in it, your writing might outlive you”.** I would not go into discussing all that he talked about in the post but I will advise you to visit the post for you to understand better. Now, one thing I learnt or understood from his post is that whatever and whenever we choose to write, we should make an impact with our writing and not just writing for the bucks. If you look at most of the posts you see on this platform, you will understand that a lot of us just want to make quick bucks. Now, the important question to ask is this; **what would we be remembered for in this platform if we do not make any positive human and societal impact with our writing?** https://read.cash/@Fexonice1/write-with-life-in-it-your-writing-might-outlive-you-5da40a9e As I was also going through my notification, I saw another post by @HappyBoy with the title **“A writer is only as good as his last post/book”.** I practically shouted ***“what a pleasant coincidence!”*** ****please you have to rad this post*******.*** In his post, he pointed out the need for us to pour ourselves into our writing and he said that this could be done when we begin to approach every post or book as our first and last. For sure, this has been the propelling force that drives me into writing the way I do. ****Can you Criticise me Constructively?****

It will not be a fallacy for me to say that we all do not have the same ability and capacity when it comes to writing. The only challenge I have seen is that we are not ready to ****teach****, ****learn**** or even ****relearn**** that which we have learnt that might not be accurate. While I the university, we were meant to approach every low-quality post with the ideology of constructively critiquing and proffering solutions when necessary instead of outrightly condemning the work and even the writer. This in a way helped the platform to achieve a bit of cleanliness in the area of plagiarism and spamming. It is not just about flagging a spam post, **it is what you do both to the writer and the write up that matters.** It is like training a child. If you only tell a child that he did something bad without showing him the right way to follow, he will not change rather he will avoid doing that same thing in your presence but will gladly go back to it once you are out of sight. This is one of the reasons why we see children who left their homes as good kids in the presence of their parents turn into social miscreants the moment they leave home. **What am I saying in essence?** We cannot say that we want a platform where quality is the watchword if we do not go the extra mile to help others by critiquing them constructively with love. ****Do you accept Criticisms?**** I have seen posts where users use images that are not free to use. One thing I do is to politely inform you about the image you are using and the risks you might incur by using such an image. I don’t end it there because I believe a correction is not complete until you proffer a better solution. If you are a writer and you are not open to others critiquing your work constructively then I will advise you to rethink. ****Why do you think that someone will gladly submit their work to someone else for proofs reading if not that they understand the importance?**** The moment you begin to feel like you do not need others to constructively criticise your writing you are already heading towards what I call ****“redundancy in writing”.**** Once you get to this stage you will notice that you will no longer make positive sense with your writing, and with time you will develop a rusty mind towards writing. Before any help will come your way, you would have completely lost your hold on writing and that is when I say that **“the writer's ink has dried up”.**
Let us develop ourselves by sharing from our wealth of knowledge when it comes to writing and life in general because we are not just here by chance but by providence. Therefore let every constructive criticism that will be rendered to you at every time be welcomed with an open mind and let your heart not grow weary in giving corrections and constructive criticisms at all times. **Always remember that we grow by lifting others…** **Thank you for reading…** **Davinchysax loves you…**

Accepting constructive criticism is one way to grow in this blogging world.. And that's true that when we write, we should do it because we want to not because for the sake of getting some bucks..we should write by heart not just by pen.. Lol..coz it is more rewarding if your readers are truly interacting with your content which only means that the message the content want to convey has been delivered well

Well written brother🤝🤝🤝. When correcting others we should do it constructively. The little "It will be nice if..." "Why don't you do it this way ..." "You tried, but..." etc can help others in becoming better writers. Citing the problem without proposing a probable solution is a waste of time. As you said the writer finds a way to manoeuvre rather than find ways to stop the bad act if he is Criticized harshly. Also, it is for everyone's good to be open-minded and be ready to yield to corrections. Nobody is a highland of knowledge, you can learn from anyone. This being my first experience at writing for a large audience not known to me was tough at first. I made a lot of errors. Took steps that I shouldn't have taken but I was lucky to have so many people at hand to call me to order and advice me from time to time. Most importantly I was happy to hear their feedback and corrections. Though most times even constructive criticisms hurt, as a writer ready to learn we must be willing to put our ego aside and take to correction. By the way, thanks for the tag and link. 🙏

Good article, very much in agreement with your perspective, but for me when talking about criticism, it is simply criticism, good or bad, it is criticism. I see it from another point of view, to people who are acting in the wrong way, by ignorance or not, we simply have to guide them. Some will not take it in a good way and will get angry and reach extremism, others will be grateful because they did not know the risks involved in plagiarism. However, I regret that many people do plagiarism shamelessly and nothing happens, because not all countries apply the laws accordingly. Recently I was reviewing a work for promotion of degree, I noticed something strange and searched the web, finding an almost 100% plagiarism, because even the references were copied identically, unfortunately that person was approved the work, I made the claim at the time but they did not take me into account. You have made a valid point in what you said. I am the kind of person that will want to approach critiquing with love, respect and understanding. In that way, I get to know why the mistakes were made at the first instance.
Great one from you as usual. You ironed it all yourself and I remembered how it was for us at Uptrennd. Before joining UU, I know I had the passion to write but putting words down was more than just passion. There are lots of things we are doing wrong as writers that we do not know along but learning and taking corrections will make those things known to us. Not everyone is ready to be corrected and that is why they keep having issues. Life is about learning to become better, being a writer doesn't make us perfect.
