Intent Vs Reality

Ok, I will start to days post by hailing Arsenal FC for such a great victory over a very strong side Chelsea FC. To all the Arsenal fans I say congratulations on your win. This shows that your club should not be written off or seen as a never do well football club. To be frank, I did not watch the match because I did not want to experience what I saw in the Liverpool and Manchester United match. I thought that Chelsea was going to tire Arsenal into shreds since they were playing at home. When I checked the score after the first half, I could not believe my eyes and immediately the ball ended, I could not stop myself from clapping for the Arsenal players and the way they played. For me, it was a deserved victory. So to all the Arsenal fans on this platform, I say well done🥳🥳🥳.

Let's get back to business meanwhile I can hear some of you asking about the club I support. Well, I will say this just once. I am a fan of good football this is why I spend my time watching football especially when the match is very tough. You can now rest your mind, I am not an Arsenal fan thank you. Let's get to the day's business.

Intent Vs Reality

These are two different words that have great meaning and effect on our lives. These words define where, how and what we achieve in life. Most times it may seem irrelevant but when we carefully look at them, we will understand that they are the basis of everything we do in life. In other to understand the message in this post, I will tell a story using this platform. Please, try as much as possible to read through this post because it may save you from unnecessary mistakes and failure.

The story.

This is a story of two friends who loved and cared for each other. They love each other so much that they will always tell one another about any financial opportunity that shows up. Their names are Timo and Laz. One faithful day Laz came across a platform where one can write posts and get paid. He could not wait to tell his friend Timo who loves to write. Laz has seen Timo write about events and virtually everything in such a skilful way that makes him think it's easy. As he got to his house, he narrated the entire story of the blogging site to his friend. Instantly, they decided to give it a try with the intention(Intent) of making money. On the next day, both friends decided to write on a topic so that they can be able to explore their differences.

By the end of that day, they have posted their articles in their accounts. As days passed by, they continued to write hoping and praying that their articles will attract the robot that tips other people's posts. As days went into weeks and then into months, it became clear to Timo who had a great passion for writing that all his articles are not getting any tips. Out of sadness, he stopped writing even as Laz kept on urging him never to give up. At some point, he tried to discourage Laz who never had any passion for writing but has begun to enjoy writing. Reality thought Laz that he can develop his writing skill if he continued writing. This made him forget the real intent of joining the platform and focused on the reality of things.

Laz continued writing for up to a month without any form of tip or reward from the robot. Timo began to tell him that he has been wasting his articles for nothing. This steady reminder from Timo began to sink into Laz and he began to consider quitting. One faithful morning, Laz woke up and decided to go to the blogging site just to read what others have been posting. As he opened his account, he saw a notification that the robot has tipped $12 to his last article. He could not hold his joy immediately he called his friend Timo and as they were talking over the phone, he broke the good news to Timo who could not clearly understand what Laz was saying. This made him tell Laz that he will come over to the house as early as possible. Before mid-morning, Timo had ready rushed over to Laz's house and as he saw the notification with his eyes, he felt happy and sad at the same time.

The Message

The biggest reason behind Timo's sadness is nothing other than the feeling of regret. He has a passion for writing and both of them joined the platform intending to make money through writing. There is one challenge we face in life and that is, the ability to face reality. Most times we might have the best of intentions over something but when reality hits us, we fall by the roadside. Timo fell by the roadside because he allowed the reality of things to overwhelm him. In everything you do in life, always find a balance between intent and reality. You may have it all planned out, don't forget that reality has a role to play in all you do. When it hits you differently, just like Laz, focus on the things you have been able to achieve instead of the things you intend to get.
