Waking up to the sad news of the death of a loved one is so heart drenching because you will be completely thrown off balance from thoughts of how it all happened to thoughts of how the surviving immediate family i.e. the wife and kids will be doing at such a moment is so sad.
We do not cry because we lost someone but we cry because we will not see them any more on the surface of the earth. One consolation we must always have should be in the life they lived while here on earth and this is why we must try so hard to live a life that will be a testimony of us when we are no more. Remember that posterity will judge us after we have passed on to the great beyond.
This whole thing has made me think deep into the life I live and how I will be remembered after I am gone. The greatest question one must ask him/herself at this point is; what will I be remembered for after I am gone? I understand that talking about death is always a topic that makes everyone uncomfortable but we cannot shy away from talking about it if we truly want to live the best life we can live before death comes knocking.
When we are born, we come out with a lot of potentials which if put in good use will endear us to both friends and families. We begin our life journey like an empty slate working so hard to fill its surface with good deeds so as not to be seen as a notorious person. Sometimes we end up not doing the right things either because of peer group pressures or because of life’s challenges.
One thing we must understand in this life is that whether we allow peer pressure or life’s challenges to control our actions and deeds as humans we will always be held accountable for everything we do even in death. This is the reason why we must distance ourselves away from friends and folks who will not affect our life positively.
Sometimes I used to wonder what it is like to take the journey to the great beyond. It may sound crazy to some but I must tell you that the life we live is not our own and the greatest fear that grips any man/woman is the fear of not knowing when it will happen. Even in our carefulness death can still come knocking and when it comes, nothing will stop us from answering the call. How do you live your life? How do you affect other people’s life, positive or negative?
These and many other questions must be carefully answered by every one of us as long as we are still alive because we are on earth not just to live for ourselves but to live for others and the entire community. Life will be sweet if we impact positively on others because whatever that goes around will surely come around either in life or in death.
Show me a man who has lived forever and I will show you the history books were men with enormous powers and respect have lived and passed on to the great beyond even in all their powers. No one is above death. The early we understand it the better for us and that is when we will start living a life full of emulation positive impact.
In all that you do, be a man/woman that will always put the happiness of others into consideration. We are here for each other and the only way to survive as a people is by showing love even to those who hate us. The problem of the world is not farfetched, it is the problem everyone fighting for just their own i.e. selfishness. Country A wants to reap from Country B not considering the damages it will cost on Country B.
Greed, envy, hatred, wickedness, injustice, corruption, war etc, these are the greatest enemies of the world and we all know and understand these things but due to personal aggrandisement, we act indifferently even while we see people or nations suffering from our actions. Our world will be a better place if we will always remember that death is an inevitable end for every life on earth. Let your good works speak better and louder for you as you journey through life.
My condolence goes to every family who is mourning the death of their loved one at this point. May God comfort them and provide necessary help and assistance to all of them. May he give them the grace to understand that death is a necessary end to everyone.
