Water requirement for Pawpaw farming depends on the environmental factors of the area like light, temperature, wind, soil type, etc. It differs with the age of the plant. A young Papaya plant would want more moisture than the older trees. This is because older Papaya trees have slower vegetative growth. The female (distillate):: Has female parts only. Flowers are large, situated singly or in clusters near the tree 🌲 trunk and close to the base of leaf stalk. It is pollinated through cross pollination and produces fruits that are sweetest in all the varieties.
The hermaphrodite::: contains both make and female parts on the same plant thus capable of self pollination.
Pollination is a key component in pawpaw production because it determines fruit set and quality.
There are some pests that can cause damage and spoil the fruit production. The pests in papaya fruits are whitefly, fruit flies, aphids, red spider mite, ash weevils, and grey weevil. Then the infected plant parts want to be destroyed along with the application of prophylactic sprays of Dimethoate (0.3%) or methyl demeton (0.05%).
Harvest fruits when they reach the level of ripeness you desire. Tart, green fruits can be eaten as a vegetable, but many people prefer fully ripe, yellow, or orange fruits for their sweet taste. You could harvest anytime after the fruit is mostly yellow.
