for it's tubers. The cassava plant is a Woody plant with erect stems and spirally arranged simple lobed leaves with petioles leaf stems, cassava can be processed into a number of products such as starch, flour, chips, ethanol, glucose syrup, bread and other things. The products have high demand locally and also have significant export possibilities. Now the cassava crop is cultivated across most of the tropical regions in the world like my country Nigeria and other countries. Cassava has good health benefits and the leaves of the plant are also full of nutrition. This crop is a cash crop and can achieve good yield and

profits for farmers with crop management practices as we are taught in school. Cassava is a tropical root crop, requiring at least eight months of warm weather to produce a crop. Before you start to plant your cassava you must cut the stems into a piece of the stalk which then grows into a new plant. Application of fertilizers and irrigation should be additional when going for intercropping. Not after you have finished planting your cassava you relax is not like that regular

weeding should be carried out and any dried or diseased branches can be removed because not everything you plant will survive, some will die and dry up while some will grow. As you know that any crop you cultivate in your farm land there must be a pest that will attack them.

The cassava is now harvested

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE COMMON PESTS AND DISEASES FOUND IN CASSAVA CULTIVATION:

Cassava mosaic, cassava bacterial blight, anthracrose, bud necrosis, brown leaf spot, white leaf spot, cassava brown streak disease, cassava root rot disease, African root and tuber scale, grasshoppers and so on. For control measures of these pests and disease in Cassava farming, CONTACT local agriculture department or any agriculture University. And after ten to

twelve months of planting, your cassava is ready to harvest and process for your own choice. Mostly, cassava is harvested by hand, lifting the lower part of stem and pulling the roots out of the ground then removing them from the base of the plant by hand. Care should be taken otherwise roots maybe damaged. This is what I have been doing since last week, harvesting of cassava for our own consumption and when we came back from the farm we start to pill the back so that it can be taken to the machine for processing.

What a good and beautiful Harvest

It's an interesting plant, I don't think it grows here because I deal with a lot of planting and sales and I've never seen a plant like it.
