What You Should Know About the Ocean
The ocean is an enormous body of saltwater which according to science covers about 71 percent of Earth’s surface. It is recorded that our planet has only one global ocean, but then because of the countries of the word, the ocean has been divided into four regions: The Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and the Arctic Oceans.
Because 97 percent of the world’s water is found in the ocean, it has been easy for the ocean to exhibit an impact on temperature, food supply, and weather. It is a fact that the ocean remains a mystery because more than 80 percent of the ocean has not been explored or mapped by humans.
Some discoveries have been made by the oceanographers, these discoveries exposed that the ocean contains towering mountain ranges, trenches, and more.
Since the ocean is so vast, it cannot be ascertained how many different species call the ocean their home and habitat.
It is recorded that scientists have diagrammed more terrains on Mars, Moon, and Venus than the Earth's ocean floor which means that the Earth's ocean is vastly unexplored.
On this note, one should understand that:
The Ocean remains a Key Influence on Weather and Climate because it drives the three global cycles which are water, carbon ad energy
We have One Big Ocean with Seven continents.
The Ocean Creates a Habitable Earth
It is believed that life itself arose from the ocean as the ocean gave the atmosphere all of its oxygen. The ocean has more Diversified Ecosystems and habitats.
There are more living things in the sea than that of the land. The Ocean Is Essentially Unexplored when compared to the land.
It is said that the ocean is approximately 70% of the entire Earth, and only 5% to 15% has been explored in detail.
You wrote well about importance of sea or other water forms for human being and for climate as well. Keep it up. More power to you.
