Deportation of International Students in USA?
Recently, the US Immigration Custom's and Enforcement (ICE) officially announced that international students in USA will be deported if their universities shift to a total online tutoring. However, there is a policy made by the USA government and ICE that international students should not do all their courses online and due to the covid-19 pandemic, many international students are currently doing their courses online.
Do you think this action by ICE to deport them is fair?
For me, I think the policy has to be adjusted because millions of internation atudents will be greatly affected by this and hence, they should be considered. The United State of America is a study destination for many aspiring students and the implemention of this policy will not be helpful but dreadful.
Many international students can't bear this loss. Knowing fully well the amount of money they have for the time period of the study, they will not be patient to wait till the normal one on one study system comes back. It will be hard for the to resist the online courses. Although, Donald Trump (US President) said that by Fall, schools will reopen, but the question is, are they reopening to one on one lecture or still online study?
Recently, one of the best universities in the world known as Harvard University stated that they will be going on full online study and their fees remains the same. Is this right? I believe the fees should reduce a bit. A lot of students will spend more on internet subscription just to meet up with all school activities and so, the fees should be reduced a bit in support of students progress.
What do you have to say concerning the deportation of international students if universities adjust to full online study?
This is really a big issue which needs to be discussed in the plenary. The US government should do something about it.
